Icon Stage 3 disappointment - new noise and RUBBING!

I'm surprised that I have rubbing after the Icon install on the splash guards where I previously had none with 32" tires.

I've already determined the spacers on the bottom of the front shocks were reversed and the coils are hitting the sway bar on bumps at lower speeds.

I can't figure out the rubbing, however. I don't see much of a difference in lift, but I didn't measure it. Any ideas on why I'd have rubbing after the Icon install?

 

Did you change wheels ? Have you had an alignment post lift ?

 

Also post pics of your coilovers and sway bar relocation bracket. This will help us see what is installed on it

 

I put FJ cruiser steelies on BEFORE about three months before the Icon install. No rubbing until the new suspension. The shop sent the truck for an alignment after the Icon install.

 

Is the anti-sway bar relocation bracket installed? and Yeah the small spacer goes in the back of the lower shock mount.

 

Do you have the alignment sheet ?

when the alignment is done move the castor forward. IE move the wheels forward

Others have reported the importance of placing the larger bushing in front of the shock. THE IMAGES BELOW SHOW THE INCORRECT PLACEMENT! The larger bushing should be toward the front of the vehicle.

Passenger front anti-sway bar mount. Is the rectangular plate the relocation bracket? Is it installed correctly?

You guys are a great help. Keep the feedback coming. Of course I want the Icon Stage 3 to be all that I hoped for, especially after investing a whole lot of $$$ buying and installing it. I did not want to settle for the little 5 foot bed just to get the offroad ability and the Icon installation was a big part of my decision.

 

UPDATE: Icon confirmed your collective ideas and the shop did too. All is good, and the shop guys were especially glad to have a chance to make things right. And I'm glad to be able to remain a happy customer.

Both recommended reinstalling the stock overload leaf with the Icon add-a-leaf to get back to stock payload capacity, recovering about 0.5" or more. Interestingly, with a cap and bedslide (about 540 pounds), the springs are almost entirely flat. For expedition purposes, I'll give this configuration a try for a while, but I'm anticipating replacing the rear springs altogether.

 

X2 on the Icon aal kit. I have the same leafs on my truck and looking to replace with a whole new pack soon.

 

I just installed the Icon Stage 4 lift yesterday. By reversing the spacers on the bottom of the shocks, the tires is now too far back, when they needed to go forward, thus causing the problems your having.
