Having tons of squeaking issues from coil overs and from uca ball joints. I have already sent one coilover back for rebuild and now the other one is making the same high pitch screeching/squeaking over every bump. I have done everything Icon susggested to remedy the noises and it’s not working. Suspension hasn’t even been on the truck for a year. Now my uca ball joint is making a herendous creaking noise when I turn the wheel. I am having a terrible time getting any communication from them. I’ve been in contact with Fred their manager and Scott Spiva, but now I don’t get any responses from emails and I can’t get them on the phone. Is anyone having these issues?

Lol I’ve tried it all... I’m just trying to see if this is a common issue with all their kits. I guess at this point I’m more upset with customer service and the fact that they aren’t trying to help me. Silly me thought dropping $3k+ on a suspension kit would come with better customer service and have a little more quality...

My uniballs(non icons) always make noise, so I dont have any input on that problem.

Have you narrowed down the noise on the coilovers? Is it the shaft seal or the upper/lower joints?
If shaft seal, I usually spray them with dirtbike chain lube, cycle them once and then wipe the shaft off. That will quiet the seal/o ring. Since i have been running coilover boots I have not had the shafts make noise as often as before. I have done this on kings, icons and foxes. They all can squeek.

If you think it is the joints, hose one down with some lube and go for a drive. If noise dosent change then hose the other one down and see if it changes. Then pull the CO and replace the joint. They are cheap and easy to do.

Have you had issues in less than a year with your suspension kits? I was def able to pin point the noise on the first one to the CO and sent them videos of it so it was fixed under warranty. I know have the same noises on the other side less than 3k miles later. I have sprayed the ball joints several times with lube and no improvement. As far as the joints, are you talking about the top and bottom of the CO joint or the joints of the ucas with the grease zirk fittings?

I have had problems with all major brand COs within the first year. Spread across multiple makes: FJ, 4rnr and a Tundra. Foxes shipped without gas, Foxes shipped with clickers that dont work, rusty foxes, leaky kings, squeeky icons, leaky icons...

The joints at the top and bottom of the coilover. I have no experience with icon's UCAs.

    Who is installing them?

I had icons on my f-150 last year, UCA's and 2.5's with resi and adjusters front and back. Squeaked like shit, you could only temporarily stop it with lube or grease. Their customer service is absolutely horrible. They won't sell directly to customers, at least for ford stuff, and they wouldn't send my dealer the right parts either. They would literally tell me the part number, then send something else to the dealer. Same thing happened when I tried to buy the replacement bushings from SDHQ and a few other reputable companies out west, tell them the exact part number I received from Icon tech support, and they would send a completely different product, this happened 4 times before I went with Baja Kits. I will never buy their products again, simply because they won't help you after the fact and make it impossible to even fix yourself.

I get shit on in this forum when I say this, and people talk about icons great support on this forum, go look at the icon intro/help post, the OP that everyone on here LOVES, never responded once to it. :crapstorm:

Edit: Here is the link, looks like he replied after two months or more. Great response time.

Good luck, but don't expect much.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
You will find a lot of Icon fan boys on here. At the end of the day they are not a quality product with crap for service.

    Working on it now....UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This is why I won't even consider their product. I am shopping for suspension components now for my Tundra. I will stick with Fox as they have served me extremely well so far.

Thanks guys.. I’ll give it a little more effort and if no luck I’ll just buy something else and sell the icons.

Any luck with the ball joint noise? I installed a set of billet UCA's with uni-ball's and mine just starting creaking REALLY bad about 500 miles ago. I've put about 2500 miles on them so far...

I get a lot of odd noises and squeaks I can't seem to shake off. I'm not sure the noise is coming from the Icon suspension or my Total Chaos LCA. It could also be other suspension stuff on the truck. I'm already too deep into what I've invested into my suspension to give up on it. I feel they do perform well on and off-road. Since my truck isn't my daily driver, it really doesn't bother me too much. It seems to make noises on hotter days that are 75+. I've never had issues with their customer support but my only issue is they over charge for everything. I mean, it's an arm and a leg to get small replacement parts.

I can say I've blown a lot of seals on my Icons that I've never blown on my Sway-a-ways nor Kings in the past. It might be my fault as I don't have front bumps and may have taken the shocks past their limits.

Would I do Icons again if I was given the chance? Maybe. . .

    My set up for reference

Front Icon 2.5 extended coilovers with resi (700lb Eibach springs) (Blown both seals once)
Front Icon 2.5 secondary shocks with CDC resi (Blown one seal once)
Rear Icon 2.5 Omega shocks (This are all gravy)
Rear Icon Hydro Bumps (Blown both seals once)

Yea I use a lithium grease that quiets them down a lot. I ordered the delta joints just waiting for them to arrive. I’ve been able to narrow down all the noises. Thankfully Adrian from Icon reached out to me on here and is working with me. Going to send in my other coilover to get looked at. I’ve done all the trouble shooting they recommend with no improvement. Last time this happened they rebuilt my coilover under warranty and I haven’t had any issues at all.

Forgive my ignorance but why multiple shock set ups in one?

Since this post I’ve had pretty great luck and service from them. Adrian has been awesome and I actually got to meet him at the Overland expo in flagstaff.
