All I know is there was a list started, and then people supposedly placed orders, and no gb pricing was announced

Group buy discount I think someone said 20%. I at least just wanted to see group buy pricing, but oh well.

Guys it’s my understanding that sale prices cannot be listed as it violates Icons pricing guidelines, this would explain why there are no prices/discounts listed. For a comp to put on a Sale/GB I suspect they would have to both buy direct from the manufacturer, Icon, as well as get approval from Icon for putting on an advertised sale/GB.

It’s possible this is why the "GB" went nowhere, rules could have been violated or maybe a Sale was not agreed upon???

You want a legit Icon Group Buy, I would think your best bet would be to contact Icon directly about doing one.

Icon did 20% off last year and said they will never do it again. I don't think GB prices are 20% off.

Generally Icon does not sell direct. You can buy direct from them, but it's at MSRP, which is usually 5% over what you will find on our website and others. Companies do have Min. advertised price policies as well. Being that Icon uses Distributor's, they prefer end users go through those vendors to get products (Us being their biggest vendor/stocker), that way they are not taking sales away from those who sell for them.

If a group buy is being wanted, We can look into setting something up, but generally the Supporting vendors on here who have TW discounts can get you a pretty good deal. In order to have a good group buy, you can't get a firm price without knowing exactly how many people are 100% in for the group buy. That means a card # or deposit cause if not, then the company could be stuff with added inventory they have to sit on for awhile.

Usually Black Friday is the only time you will see anything over 10%. And that is planned for a good amount of time out to have correct stock. That's another thing with group buy's on suspension, How many different combo's are there? Resi, non resi, ext. travel, CDC. It would cause 3-4 week build times if there is a lot of variables like that.

On group buy's where there is 1 product, and no options, it makes it much much easier to plan.

Hope that kinda helps. if anyone wants pricing, we do a pretty good TW discount, Just shoot me a PM for prices. There are a lot of supporting vendors on here that help out.

The tough thing is getting everyone to agree on what shock they want, or what stage of kit. If that can be settled then it would make it more feasible and Icon would have a heads up to do a run of just those shocks depending on total # of people getting in on it. Even then, you would have to figure 3-4 week build time on the order. And the official price could not be known untill a set # of orders is reached.

If everyone can nail down a common stage to do, or just coilovers or something, then we can get serious about it ya know.

That would make the group buy much more possible. Not saying Multiple options could not be done. But it would complicate things with pricing and turn around time.

Thanks for the response! Turnaround time wouldn't bother me, but I think trying to get everyone to agree on one setup would be like herding cats! :D I'd still be interested to see what happens. If the group buy doesn't happen, I'd like to get some pricing from you at some point.

It did. We took a bunch of orders and those will be filled, but its like herding cattle sometimes. those who got in on it know they scored big. I would love to do another one sometime soon.

To echo what SDHQ said, yes Icon does not generally allow GB or sale of their products that's below the MAP pricing. There are a few companies out there that whore out Icon suspension, but they have little to no knowledge of the product or it's application. There are several companies that have years of experience dealing with Icon products and it's application. SDHQ is one of them, there are many others including us. I'd recommend finding who's closes to you and or who answers the questions the best when ordering the suspension. It's an investment in your vehicle and you want to make sure you get it done right the first time.

I just posted our prices, which is low as we are allowed to advertise it at in our section.http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/demello-offroad/340197-demellos-icon-vehicle-dynamic-prices.html

Icon did allow a one time sale last year of 20% off their products. I have not heard any rumors of that happening anytime soon, but that's the only time I've ever see them allow us to advertise those prices.

I hope that clears up some of the info here.
