You list a 1st Gen in your signature, but a 2nd Gen in your avatar

Would help to know as some may have a suggestion for you based on needs (knowing what vehicle as well)

Superbumps aren't much and replace the stock setup without the need for a u bolt flip or anything

I'd hate the thought of "foam" bumpstops

Yeah, I have a 2015 now. (Selling my 02, photos are in my profile, can't post on the for sale page because I don't have enough posts yet). Not sure how to update my signature.

Somebody from wheelers told me that the superbumps are not advised unless you are lifted 2 inches or more. Any experience with this?

That's true, you'd need a lift for them (for 1st Gen)

Completely unfamiliar with 2nd Gen, hopefully someone will chime in

I have the wheeler's on my 2014, both front and rear w/ u-bolt flip. They are definitely bigger than stock (ofc) and will need a lift to actually get the proper use/clearance. I have a 2.5 inch with a 1.5 inch AAL. I can send some pics later once I get off work.

I'll be adding the Icon rxt leaf pack level 3 on the rear which will give me some lift, but I have a consistent 400 lbs in back and 600 lbs when loaded so not sure if I will have enough clearance.

If you're referring to the 3rd option then it looks like you should be good. Idk because I didn't replace the whole pack I just added a leaf because I don't have much weight in the back and just wanted to level. That being said, I think the 1.125" lift it provides would suffice but am unsure. I can take some pics and measurements of mine when I get home in a few if you'd like.

Only when it's convenient. Thanks a bunch. Any opinions on Sumo springs vs the timbren off roads? Looking at all the option.

No experience with Sumo Springs and I was gonna go to with Timbren but ended up going with Wheeler's since they were running a pretty good sale when I bought them. Since you're not really looking to do a u-bolt flip then I think Wheeler's would be your best and most affordable coming around $300 for front and rear bumpstops.

We're in general talk so here's my '16 with stock leaf pack, 1.5" block and medium sumos springs.
Over 300#'s in OSB. No sag.
Sumos are great for my purposes.

I think Sumo Springs were/are designed more for towing/hauling, hence why they are larger and basically fill the space between the leaf spring and the frame. Timbren/Wheeler's were/are designed more for offroad use since they don't fill that space allowing for more up travel. But idk that's just my two cents, I could be wrong. :notsure:

    I agree.
Travel limit will decrease some, Idk the max but they do compress to at least 50%, I believe. The amount of travel lost can't be much.

The OEM rear bumpstop is bonded to a steel sheet, which is in turn clamped under the U-bolts. The Icons are "universal" i.e. you have to figure out a mounting scheme yourself. In the rear this means drilling a hole on each side of the frame and mounting these bumpstops with nuts and bolts. You'll also need a strike plate like this: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bump-stops-too-short.457376/#post-13512581

Wow that is not much clearance on the front bump stop. Do those limit your travel compared to stock?

Okay, I was wondering how you would mount them with that single hole and no provided mounting plate. Thanks.

TBH, no, I don't notice any travel limit. It is way smoother when I hit dips and bumps and I no longer hear the "clunk" when you would hit the stock bump stop.

Is your front lifted or stock?

About a 2.5 inch lift or so and about 1.5 inch in the rear.

I ended up pulling the trigger on some timbrens for the rear. I think the wheelers are too tall for my front end at stock height.
