    Hey all,

FNG ( f*ckin new guy) here and I have been hangin around doing my reasearch here a bit. I am waiting for my ‘19 DCLB TRD Off Road 4X4 to deliver but it’ll be a while for that to happen. Anyways I have been wondering what the consensus is when it comes to which is a better solution when comparing ICON to a King/ Total Chaos set up.

I will be doing some light off road and some towing/camping and wanted a cushy but competent ride when either trailering, driving on the road or doing some off road. I know there will be different schools of thought here but all opinions are welcome to help me in my quest for the Swiss army truck I have been hoping for.

Any and all options are welcomed just need some input. If this has already been discussed and or debated please attach the link to the thread and I will continue with my research, because that is all I have till I get delivery.

    Thanks
    Matt

More like ADS vs King’s. Icon blows and their CS sucks. I’d pretty much buy any company before Icon.

Also check out the Bilstein 8112’s, the technology in them is awesome

    Swiss army truck huh?

Kings then. I personally run extended Icon 2.5 on all corners but the only place these outshine Kings is fast off-road because of the progressive valving. They suck at everything else haha

Im a king guy myself, I recommend clickers and progressive suspension to suit your needs so you can adjust the compression for weight and not feel the bumps in the slow stuff. Icon is digressive in that it feels harder at slower speeds and as others have stated their customer service leads alot to be desired. Their products are interesting in that if you have remote resi rear shocks then you MUST cut a little off your rear shock mount or you might have a resi leak due to the resi line fitting making contact with the shock mount. Lastly, Icon has proprietary parts and arnt as easily serviceable as say king where its just general parts that most places can service if they deal with shock refreshes.

This is why I like ADS. Progressive dampening, digressive rebound

i can do desert trails at 75mph and its a cloud underneath me
