Driving a 2016 TRDOR 4x4. Currently up front I'm running OME Nitro Chargers with 886 coils, SPC uppers, a CBI bumper and winch. I've got an opportunity to purchase, at a good price, some Icon 2.5 Extended Travel C/O's with 700lbs springs from a buddy with a 2nd Gen. They need some love and a rebuild. I guess I'm just seeing if it's worth making the switch and put a few hundred bucks into the Icons.. or just being content with my current set up.. I've read a lot about Icons for 2nd gens not being the best route.. some say different... I'll leave the umbrella closed and greet the :crapstorm: or :drunk: with open arms..thanks boys!

I can only speak for my experience had 2.5 icons ext travel with 650lb spring got 2nd hand they rode likena damn dream put about 20k on them no leaks or rebuild. Fast forward got all armored up they sagged didnt have the money to upgrade them properly so swapped another member for 886s an nitrochargers. Rides like a comfy tank but serves their purpose well, i will be getting kings or bp-51s next time around.
If your really wanting them on the cheap id do it but keep your 886s around if you are unhappy with them or when time comes for rebuild. Icons are a great coilover but after riding in a truck with kings they are the shizznet.

You will be happy with the icons with all that weight in the front. With no weight they feel really stiff and can feel the smallest of bumps and cracks in the road.

Even with sag the icons still rode great, i did add some preload but it was a tad stiff an had about same travel as 886s at that point.
