I don't hate GM, but it's my right to give my own money to the corporations of my own choosing and reasons. If you can't deal with it, that's your problem.

Speaking of irony, what about the 50 cents a piece ignition switch case that actually caused quite a few deaths? Talk about pot calling the kettle

I never said you can't choose to do business with whoever you wish. I just found it ironic to cite GM and fault them for a bailout when all of the Big 3 have needed one at one point or another. Some of them multiple times.

If you boycott companies that have been bailed out by the federal government, the current tally is 965 companies that you have to avoid:
    https://projects.propublica.org/bailout/list

In case you haven't figured it out, the U.S. government is a Corporatocracy. All this left/right stuff is a smokescreen; it's a government by the corporations, for the corporations. You can complain about it, or buy stock and share in the bounty :)

Sweet Jesus. This isn't about GM, its about Ford. Everyone has their own opinion about manufacturers. Don't like it? Move on.

Except Diesel doesn't let you get on it... a Ford F150 with a 2.7 L Ecoboost weighs about the same as the Colorado Diesel but it's about 30-40% faster 0-60. I'd guess in the first 30 feet it's even faster than that. That amount of get up and go is expected by most buyers now.

Oh, and the Ecoboost does put out more torque than HP in truck applications. That's how Ford designed and tuned it. The biggest difference, other than the Diesel being more efficient of course, is that the Turbo gas can get to 6000 RPM which gives it a wider powerband. That means less time shifting or trying to make max power and more time delivering max power to the wheels.

That is probably why they get somewhat alright mileage then. But I am doubting the hp to torque ratio is as big as it is with a diesel. Yes, I have no doubt that it is faster, where the diesel shines is low end torque; which it can't beat and is why they can get good mileage. In a mid sized off road truck, this would be extremely good. The difference between gas turbo and diesel turbo, when you baby them, is you will see significantly more mpg out of the diesel then the gas. I like that trade off in combination with the low end torque.
