My only thing is gas prices here in my area are very high. I'm thrilled if I find 87 grade for $2.50 range with the 93 grade $3.89ish at some places and now diesel fuel is more expensive

The diesel engine it had was the only thing that made him buy it.

I Could be wrong but you probably have not even driven one. The reviews I have seen, people like how it drives even more so then the v6 version of it. It just doesn't look the best lol. If you have, I get it, not everyone likes the diesel engine characteristics, a lot of people like the v6 version of the Tacoma. I am used to the way diesels drive and like that low end torque and mileage and it would be really good off road in the Tacoma.

It would probably have less vibrations and wind noise while driving down the highway.

IF people bought trucks based on rationality, most people would get 4X2's and 4x4s would be rare.

Not to mention, I disagree with the premise that having a diesel in a mid-size is in anyway irrational. More MPGs, more torque. These little trucks are used to haul mulch, trailers, camping shit, fat friends, etc and having a 4x4 with gobs of low end torque sounds great to me. When they aren't doing that, people are tooling to and from work on highways (or in cities). I would trade HP for MPGs and torque any day of the week.

You might be fighting similar battles on new releases just like the 16 Tacoma, but more vulnerable to Ford reliability...with that said, forget the ranger and bust the bronco...hopefully they get better than the 11mpg I once had.

The thing is people don't buy trucks rationally. To be honest if they did the F150 wouldn't be the top selling vehicle in Canada and trucks wouldn't make up most of the American market. Most people really need the smallest thing on four wheels you can find. Who cares how fast it gets going if it's stuck in traffic.

Being the ugliest truck on the market doesn't help... I'd buy one in a Tundra body.

You can easily haggle 10K off that price. The first few will go for MSRP of course, but within a year getting a Raptor for 10K off will be simple.

I just love how auto manufactures charge 50k for a vehicle and then add options for 15k more... so basically the options are 30% value of the whole truck..

The Raptor only shares about 40% of it's parts with the rest of the F150 line. In other words it's a lot more than just an option it's almost a totally different truck.
