    hi all,
some of the chrome on the TOYOTA emblem on the tailgate is coming off and it looks terrible. i'd like to paint it black...but i want it to be a nice glossy/shiny black. i can use spray paint but that won't make it look nice and glossy. i found a thread on how to remove it the correct way.

how can i paint it the right way?

    thanks

De badged tailgate,LED dome light, removed mud flaps, tail gate anti-theft mod,Maglite seat mount, rear diff breather, blacked out Tacoma emblems, blacked out Toyota emblem, foglight anytime, plastidiped stock rims,BHLM, behind grill light bar w/2 Hella 500FF lights, shortened 18" stock antenna, weathertec floor liners, Hi-lift, 3'' Toytec Ultimate with AAL, AVS Rainguards, Wet Okole seat covers, lowprofile tool box, pro comp 7089 w/33'' KM2s, flowmaster 40 series muffler, hidden CB mod w/firestick antenna.
i would use a fine grit sand paper wash it then dry it and paint with a high gloss spray paint then clear coat it.

Yep. Follow it up with clearcoat and it will be nice and shiny.

It's not an emblem but the same idea. These are my rattle canned wheels. High Gloss Rustoleum followed by several coats of clear. Nice and shiny.
