Its the car from the thunderbirds? I remember this car from octane magazine a while back. Its built on a bus chassis and hs only the one door on the back.... the guy built one other car too...

 

Buick Safari Wagon

 

Right on Safari, but it's a 57Pontiac.
This was their version of the 55-57 Chevy Nomad. You can see the "bumperettes" on the tailgate and the ribbed roof. This goes back to the original Corvette Nomad concept car.

 

Haha, my friend from high school had one when he was a junior and I was a freshman. The headliner was always sitting on our heads so we got a fake finger, put a thumbtack in it and put it through the center of the headliner. Looked like we were riding around in a circus tent with a finger coming through. Could also start the car by turning the key cylinder, without a key in it. It was baby blue, so we called it the blue chick magnet.

Yep, hard to believe this is the sister car the Monte Carlo as and grand national. It looks so wimpy.

 

The Fab-1 was pink, the car is at the Dezer Car Museum in Miami.

My cousin had a blue extended cab 4x4 when I was a kid, with a 5 speed. I thought it was the coolest little truck; that thing was an absolute tank. He used to take me offroading in it all the time and we never got stuck, even with the bald tires that teenagers run. We forded a puddle on the way out to camp once that was so deep that it was washing over the hood, but plowed right through. Started skipping once we were out, but as soon as the hot motor evaporated the water it started firing on all cylinders again.
