    Hey everyone,

I need help in identifying what this green wire harness is for.

I was planning on mounting the alarm LED somewhere else and came across this green wire harness that wasn’t connected to anything. The harness was found right behind the blank cover with the LED alarm light.

I got the truck used with 19k miles on it a few years back and noticed that the truck already came with a factory add-on alarm. I’m not sure if the alarm system was installed by the dealer or by an outside shop, but I couldn’t find where this green wire harness connects to.

I ended up popping the fog light switch out, as well as the AC switch and found that the green wire harness was taped up as a bundle with the fog light and AC wires.

Does anyone here have an idea what the green wire harness is for and what it’s supposed to be connected to?

    Further info about the truck:

2009 PreRunner with the TRD Sport Package

Has the Traction Control/Auto LSD and RSCA off switch. The switch on the bottom right was added by me for the bed lights, so don’t mind that.

    Thanks in advance!

I also have a 2009 Pre Runner sport and have the same green connector.
I bought mine new so it is not something added after.

    Located behind the same blank.
I am assuming that the factory wires everything the same on all trucks and if you don't select a certain package they simply
omit the part and the switch for it.

Might be the locker switch wiring for those who have the Offroad? I recently installed the factory alarm kit in my Tacoma and came across several unused connectors (many of which I used as I plugged in the harness for the factory alarm, as an example).

I just moved my switches around, and I can confirm that that's the plug for the rear locker (I have the locker).

thank you all for the reply.. i did a bit of research that same evening and found that it's supposed to be for the rear locker.. i guess my trd sport came "pre-wired".. found that the prerunner cannot have both the auto LSD and rear locker.. it has to be one or the other..

thanks for the replies though.. at least i got confirmation on what it is..
