    So I finally got caught up on the Expedition Overland videos. Unless they left some stuff out, I get the idea that the Jeep Morrison trail switchbacks would have been pretty easy for them without that trailer. Certainly made me not to worried about getting 2nd gens up it.

    Eh I don't. I mean it was to much of a focus point of the vid but I mean come on..can you blame em?

    But trust me I have been there..it will NOT be easy and getting a 2gen up it I think will be very very hard

    Yea it'll be awesome! But a slow climb. Luckily the rest of the trail is..well..a glorified dirt road :eek:

    A 2nd gen will be hard but I don't think impossible

    I just pulled up the specs and a 2nd gen DCSB is only 4.5" wider, with a 6" longer wheelbase and 7" longer turning circle than their 2001 DC 1st gen they got up the trail.

    Assuming those number hold true in real life, I don't think a DCSB will have any more trouble getting up there than 1st gens. A longbed on the other hand might have a bit more trouble with an extra 4 feet of turning circle over the 1st gens.

    They will help on some up the steep turns. That's one of the super tricky parts of it is as you turn there will be ledges on some of the turns. However Brady's really long wheel base is going to be the biggest issue by far

    That Landcruiser is wider than 2nd gens actually so you might not be so bad off.
    LC: 76.4" wide
    1st gen: 70.3"
    2nd gen: 74.7"

    Those are the widest parts of the body so if you tires stick out past your fenders (Monte:D) you will be wider than that (unless that counts mirrors, I doubt it though)

    The interesting thing is the differences in wheelbase don't seem to affect the turning circle much though.
    LC: WB-112.2" TC: 39.7'
    1st gen: WB-121.9" TC: 40'
    2nd gen: WB- 127.8" TC: 40.6'
    except the long beds of course, turning radius must not have been a huge priority for them
    2nd gen LB: WB-140.9" TC: 44'

    Shit ive been pulling trailers since i started driving shit aint that hard. i wanna take my trailer up it just to show em what's up and yeah it would slow me down but not add drama like they showed.

    Yeah. haha. The new 2 door JK's have a 36' turning circle with a 95" wheel base. Should be cake for them, at least compared to us.
