Hey monty! I think you should line your whole truck in led christmas lights and just get it over with...youd be able to see almost everything in the dark that will harm you, be seen from space and be festive all in one. How does that sound..probably cheaper than the light scheme you were thinking about doing to your truck eh?

Hey, I'm not a bitch like everyone else, I want to go!

 

I want to do the Rubicon in the summer/fall of 2014.

To that end, I scheduled major surgery on my truck for next week.

It really depends on how much snowfall there is this winter. In 2011 we would not have been able to get into the beartooths in July. Last year, July access was possible.

What kind of winter has it been so far?

I dont know about you guys but moab sounds plenty good for me.....Ive heard sories of the rubicon from my fab friend thats done that traila bunch that its not for the faint of heart and im a little faint at thispoint. I think ide at least need to do moab before i would the rubicon.

Call me a pussy but I think baby steps are for me at this point.

 

I think I'm not ready for it. I don't have enough spare parts and I'd need more research on it all first too. Rubi is pretty damn serious..

Not at all man. Moab is a great place to go and can fit anyone's wheeling style. Rubi is definitely not for the faint of heart. But an awesome trail too.


Honestly idk how well our stock travel IFS tacomas would do without some nice body damage.

 

I really get that. I am much that way too. And I've heard similar stories about the Rubicon.

Going to Moab last year really boosted my confidence in my trail skills and finding the limits of my truck's capabilities too.

 

My friend was talking sac's 130" wheel bases uber armor and deep pockets. He use to build a lot of rubicon dedicated rigs and he said that ifs is not the smartest thing to go In to rubicon with if you want to drive out.

 

if it werent for this site I wouldnt know shit about moab or the rubi. I'd love to check em out one day

 

Thats exactly why I want to go to moab first. Probably not this year because we are expexting our second boy in may but definitly next year! Moab 2014

Maybe, tho I am pretty sure the really hard stuff with house size boulders can be bypassed when necessary.

Its like anything else, you always hear about the worst of it and to find it isn't as bad as the rep says it is when you go look for yourself.

Besides, its a bucket list item.
