k so after re thinking my origional lay out for the center sections this is is the only other thing i could think of. it deff matched a bit better the pics of other bumpers i have seen...but im still left with some funky shaped pieces and those dam box things.

Those boxes are for your frame horns for mounting it..I think at least....Weld the triangle side onto the sie of the winch mount and see if it lines up with your bumper mount bolts

ya im thinking that looks a lot better. just seems like a weird way to join the two pieces. Will be a bitch to line them up level. And I dont think when the pieces sit level that that lip on the front plate piece touched the back winch plate piece...but then again I am just leaning them against my garage door, so the angles can be a bit off.

could you elaborate on that a bit?

 

You need to go get a magnetic jig to hold he steel in place for you to weld so it's strait. Cheap and easy to use.

Ok so your frame horns, they have 5 places for bolts. 1 in front, 2 on the side, and 2 on the bottom. The main parts of where you mount. So from what I see it looks like that is what those little box pieces are. So see if those fit on your frame horns, then set the winch mount piece in the center so that the traingle side of those boxes are on the winch mount.

 

well just about all of the holes are rectangular...so any number of them could *potentially* bolt to the frame...there are still 2 other pieces that have holes that I know line up with the stock bolt holes as well. the little pieces to the outside in my original (bottom) pic.

Its like a complicated freaking puzzle lol. The challenge is figuring out how it fits together... seriously how did cbi expect me to just figure this out haha....then again...they dont actually have a diy first gen bumper, so im just a test or something lol .

 

ok. that actually makes a lot of sense....didnt realize there were magical frame horns with a shit ton of bolt holes. to confirm the orientation I will of course have to take my bumper off...bit how do you think the boxes attatch? With the 45 angle side facing out or in? Up or down? Facing front or back? to the immediate outside of the winch holes? Not reallly sure how they would fit on a rectangle frame end tho? With the boxes standing up? Its not like the box can slide on top of the "horns" since the sides would get in the way and keep it from sitting flush

 

Take your bumper off. There will only be one way they can fit im pretty sure. if not then have if you are facing your truck, on the drivers side, the triangle will be on the left side, with the hypotenuse aiming up and away towards your engine. You will probably have to weld along the triangle to the winch.

 

They are a business. They just sold it for the money haha they should though hopefully know how to help you

 

lol ya...there isn't actually a marketed kit like there is for the 4 runner...so they dont have a legit set of instructions made up. Not sure how it worked out....but i have a diy kit...trail blazin ftw!
