    Well if I go with Defined Engineering's kit, it uses the factory leaf hangers so the leafs have really steep arches and don't affect the approach angle of the rear axle housing much more than the drive shaft does. Especially if you compare it to guys running long links. I see guys get hung up on those all the time. If I go to 37's those will just help alleviate the loss of clearance even more.

    Yeah weight might help some, but I am just running factory leafs with an AAL and they are practically flat already so I don't thing weight would help much...

    I wonder if I can scoot my toolbox to the back or middle of the bed so I can run the defined shock hoops with the SUA kit to get maximum up travel...

    That's why I don't want full lot out back. Especially you. You bed is small enough as it is.

    I'm gonna try and go with a cantilever level setup out back. But idk yet.

    Which way are you going to have the tent open? To the back or to one side or the other?

    I baically agree with Monte, 3 or 4 rails across instead of the 5 in the drawing. I assume the 1.5" square tubing will be as strong and support as well as the bent 1.5" round tubing on mine.

    I am curious about the direction of the cross rails. Maybe you need it that way becuase of the material you are using. My cross rails run from front to back, I guess to tie in the two bent end pieces. :notsure:

    12" from the bed rail to the top og the rack is about right. Mine is 15" IIRC

    No way. Mine is 14" from the bed rail to the bottom of the tubing I'm almost positive. Thought you went with 12..

    It was a good effort Mark. And I'll bet a great learning experience...on many levels.

    They are pretty nice. Nice thick pad and lots of room and a breeze to setup and pack up.

    When I was setting it up I put a straight edge across the bed rails to measure. It was 14" from the straight edge to the bottom of the tubing. So actually 15.5" from rail to top of rack.
