    Rear bumpers aren't a prioity over a front on 1st gens. Our rears are high enough.

    Plus you don't need a tire gate now anyways. Your tires still fit under in stock location. Hell a 255/85 would.

    And yes, i was all about them. Still am. I know my truck will never go without them..ever. But..for you, in the current situation. To me it seems like the best bet if your going to get all new tires for now is just ATs..

    But really the best way would just sipe them and not replace them..are barely over a year old..

    I think if you changed how you drove in the winter would probably help too :rolleyes: lol i drive pretty grandmaish in the winter...not that id care if i got hit..or hit someone..probably be worse for them around here since its 25mph every where in town.

    But whatever man.





    also side note...i hate CBI's 1st gen rear bumpers..they look so thrown together :notsure: just me though i guess..

    Agreed, the rears are eh.

    Go duratracs then, you need an AT. flat out no arguing that point. These things were great in the winter i was beyond impressed. I am saving them as my only winter tire thats how much i liked them.

    nope. KM2s in general aren't going to fix that. Ice is their nemesis..get over it haha

    don't like that?..get an AT..or duratracs :eek:(please don't)

    either way, Mud tires aren't made for winter driving. Hence why people run two sets like Ian.


    So the way i see it..

    A)give up the MTs till you have your own DD and get a nice AT

    B)Get a second set of tires. 235/65s maybe, for winter

    C) get over it and just keep it as is and save the money..for that rear bumper..or front..or RTT..or bed rack..or skids..

    I disagree. Having that extra rubber on the ice helps with traction. I drive on hard packed snow everyday for 1-2 months every winter. These 265 winters aired down to 29ish has been the best for me.

    Only difference is i wouldnt run M/Ts in the winter up here.

    eh. I guess i gota disagree. With the jeeps around here and a few yotas have run durtracs and did amazing in the snow. The blizzacks are some nice tires, but for the most aggresive at you can get I dont think DT's can be beat. The only flaw on mine is that they dont air down for shit cuz they are C's.

    winter blues..

    Not really man. Brady did the math once and the contact patern is about the same for a skinny vs fat if the rig is the same. Its just the shape is different.

    hard pack snow is a big different though. I have no complaints with mine in hard snow. Do fine. Ice..no way. The difference was HUGE compared to my 10.5'' wide KM2s i had on it before. Way way worse.

    but ben isn't going to drive around aired down all the time...neither am i haha

    My KM2s are Cs..air down EPIC good. THink Ben has a sick shot of some side wall flex i get outa them. Should air down better if they are Cs..


    and i agree with Ben. The side walls are horribly weak. I helped fix one of the said blown durtaracs on Jerry's rig. and the other was totally toast. Goodyears side walls are just not that great.

    have even been reading about the MTR Ks tearing

    Naw its just the experience you have seen lol Lisa hates them, I love them. I would get them again, just my 0.02.

    They arent Cs...shit now i cant remember, they are heavy ply. Ive been down to 8, and they dont do to much lol

    First of all, i was comparing it to Bens 9.5 wide tires. Going to a 10.5 will give him way more traction in the winter.

    Hard pack snow is ice. We usually get a good 2" layer for those two months. If your thinking of black ice, there isnt a studless tire that will help you one that.

    and i haven't had much experiance with tires less the 10.5'' wide..so idk how bens really do. But i now the 10.5s vs 12.5s..10.5s win.
