    fuck that, you don't buy a truck to get the best gas mileage (not that I dont want to get as good a gas mileage as I can considering the vehicle) you get it for the protection lol.

    having a plate would but the weight in regards to the cog pretty low, that's a lot of weight sitting below mid engine, cant get much lower...

    I don't give a fuck about mpgs. I get so low I don't even keep track. Although with the new ultra Gauge ill be curious to see what it really gets..

    I hate people that complain about mileage. Why I always post in those threads hahahahahahaha

    Either way. Getting skids will lower the front.

    A full set of BBs will add about 120 lbs.

    Do it! It'll look awesome, not sure about the aerodynamic qualities tho.

    I have an awesome idea for my belly pan skid. Stoked to build it. I think you'll like it too. But it's with a big ass piece of UHMW.

    Gonna build a steel front on though.

    MY PLAN, is to put in 2 bolt holes on the hoop and 2 in the bed, so i can mount it either place with the same bolts and wing nuts.

    I wouldn't use wind nuts. You can get nuts that are basically plastic handles. Much nicer.

    Just easier to handle. And torque down and loosen. Plus they don't corrode as much.

    Jon had wing nuts holding his hi lift on his CBI bed tire rack thing. Was a PITA to take it off

    Wing nuts work just fine and are cheap and easy to use. I also put some rubber grommets on eithe side of the hi lift to eliminate rattling/vibration noise. Not certain it was necessary tho.

    I figure there is a greater chance of catching on a rock with a large hole. Not sure how big the skid row one is but some are 4-5" in diameter. Also seems like it potentially could weaken the skid too.

    Weaken it..possibly. But the front skid has the lower frame right there behind it so it doesn't have to be as stout.

    Rock getting in there could maybe happen though.

    I'd just get used to taking it off like you said. Mine won't have a hole at all.

    Oil will still get on the skid though..I hunk your OCD would just end up taking it off to clean it up :laugh:

    The hole lines up exactly. It is designed as a drain hole for sure. I still take them off evry 5000 miles.

    I would never put dinosaur remains in my engine. Synthetic can easily go 10K but I change every 5.
