    no, i dont want to jump it. I want it to handle some whoops out in the desert without bucking like it has welded suspension. That is my goal my current taco. If i want a crawler im just going to get an older toyota PU and make that a crawler and give no fucks if it gets flipped. current truck is too nice to make a crawler.


    And dont EVEN get me started on people who cant decide what to do with their truck Mr long travel-crawl box-turbo

    then Mid travel for you..but even then..won't be smooth. Only LT will get you that.

    Seems like all of us are just shooting for something in between everything now. haha I did want to go full on crawler but one good trip out to the dunes it making me held for a build similar to Monte's only maybe now so many light and no bed rack or RTT. I think I will opt for a trailer for the expo stuff when I get that far. For now I want full LT with 37's that I can jump and crawl! and then maybe dive into increasing engine performance from there. Would love to get a 400-500hp monster out of my engine:D but I would likely just settle for a trd setup like the FRV too I'm sure:D I feel like mine is decently fast now, but would like just a little more go. haha

    That's too much power outa the 4.0 to keep it crawler reliable. Might as well just do a swap for that kinda power.

    I'm sure you could ride in the FRV up here :D just to get an idea. Grant he is still on stock gears too.

    If I can figure out a way to swap a 2nd gen front end ill go 37s I think. Ill need a sc I think or turbo to turn them with 4.88s as they're arent 5.29s..

    And you can. Just need a kit. Costs about 600 buck for the kit to fit any uz engine to any r series tranny.

    That is why you have to build up the block first. haha a built block would be more reliable under any kind of boost than a non-built anyway.

    I would like to take a ride in the FRV to see what that TRD S/C is all about:D

    Well it looks like Africa will be a go for me.... meaning Ill be really quiet on any forums starting sometime in late Q3 to early Q4, probably until Q1 2014, however should be an amazing payday

    Yea I guess. Not always though..trust me..haha that isn't always the solution.

    Plus at that point then you'll have tranny t case and diff failures..haha

    And yea it's fun!

    I'm sorta confused by this..

    No offense..I would never let you install a tranny on any rig I own :p haha

    And they are nice yes.

    I agree Brady lol. All of us pretty much realize a locked lt 4x4 can crawl just about as well as any of us need it to, and on the flip side we can braaaap with it also. That is what I want as well. However Ben might be right on this one...probably better off building up a tundra that already has the v8, diff, locker e.c.t

    I've already got a good power platform with my v6. That makes sense for you since you are running a 4 cylinder though. Plus I am already locked front and rear. Too invested to change plus a 2nd gen Tundra is too big and a 1st gen isn't much different than my 2nd gen anyway.

    I have a rear sliding window and who needs a sun roof and leather seats in an offroad rig? I actually don't really care for leather seats myself.

    Not positive on this but I thought the 2nd gen V6 wasn't much less powerful than the 1st gen Tundra. Although you can probably get a lot more power out of the Tundra via mods than my V6.
