Oh sorry, forgot to reply.

I do use them in water, for boating rafting wading into rivers what have you, and I think they are phenomenal. Never tried them in a race like a spartan race though. They are perhaps the least waterproof things ever to exist, which is annoying as hell when walking around normally or running and you accidentally step in a big puddle and you have water slushing by your toes, however in a race like the spartan race where everyone's shoes are guaranteed to get wet and soaked regardless I think they would be loads better than a regular shoe and a sock because while they certainly are wet, they don't feel soppy like a sick does in a pair of shoes. They basicially feel like water shoes when You are on solid ground, and much of that water will probably squeeze out.

Because you probably don't want water and mud and dirt and crap in your shoes bugging you for the type of race id suggest the konodosport (not ls) because it is much more form fitting to your foot, which means less space for water to sit around and less room for small rocks to sneak in.

This last part is important Of course as with all minimalist shoes, especially these you need to train your feet and legs to build up and get use to running in the new form and running without any cushion or support crap. Give yourself PLENTY of time to break in your body before you try to run a race or you are going to hurt yourself.

50% of the time im out of school i'm in slippers 10% im in shoes and 40% im barefoot anyways...ive conditioned running barefoot before so im pretty stoked to try these out. my sprint tops out at 20mph without shoes

I was gonna use these at work over summer too, and we go to the beach pretty much every day, so i was wondering how they were in water

figured theyd be easier to clean after the race, should be fun

 

No problem at all. I love those things and it's about all I wear. Good to hear you are conditioned to running bare foot. Just log some consistsnt road miles to get the feel.

They are awesome in the water, nothing better to use when walking around in a slippery sharp and rocky river bed. As far as cleaning, hosing them off with a little soap and scrubbing the foot bed is all you rely need . Just make sure u clean them regularily if you wear them a lot with out socks because your feet will no doubt sweat and can start to small bad ha. Any other questions I'm here

 

I have water tobbie/shoes that I wear when I go diving but I cant wear those around really, so I want something I can just keep on.
