What does he need to cut and weld? Shouldn't the trd housing just bolt on or did it come off of a 4runner?

for extended travels, king would have to custom build them....for $500 more

but every single fox shock I've seen here has rusted to shit

I talked with mrgrimm about them too, they rusted out on him immediately

On 2nd gens Foxes ext. travel C/O's have less travel than king's standard travel shocks and less travel than my 5100's. Not sure if it is the same on 1st gens though.

 

Compared to the Kings, the rust issue is like 10/1

friend of mine goes down beach trails weekly with his kings and they havent rusted; another ordered RR coilovers/rear shocks for his tundy and they started rusting within a week

That looks better! On 2nd gens the ext. travel foxes only had like 4.5-5" of travel.

 

or should I just get the fox's and maintain them so they don't rust

cause king doesnt make resi brackets for 1st gens either, I'd have to have a friend help me weld them on

 

sure i bet you chould coat them in a anti rust enamel clear coat.

if you take care of em you'll be fine i bet.

Here's the ext. and coll. numbers for 2nd gen 5100's.

17.03-22.56 so that is 5.53" of travel. I have no idea what Fox was doing when they designed the ext. travel C/O's for 2nd gens...

Cody, it sounds like you are maintaining the C/O to protect it from rust no matter what, so that probably shouldn't be a factor in choosing a C/O.

 

im going crazy cause if I want the kings i pretty much have to order them today... I leave for japan tomorrow for two weeks and it takes a month for them to build


but dsm has the foxes in stock...I'd just need the coils swapped with 600lbers cause fuck preload

You can get King coils on them. Id almost go heavier. I know i want 700lb coils next.
