When I was looking at tires I come across used 40's all the time and they are always for 20" wheels. Seems like all the diesel guys run 20's now.

20's are also used with those huge Michelin tires as well.

Interesting lol I just can't see a point to having a 20" rim. Seems impractical

    It's no different running 46's on 20's versus 33's on 15's?

Meh. It's still $500. I think I would go for it.

I need to get an alignment too. Either mine is shot or something is bent...

I wouldn't. I'd do it for maybe 800. But it'll be a major PITA. just ripping out the entire wiring harness is gonna suck.

Well yeah you could always try for more money I guess but if the guy isn't in a huge hurry to get it and you don't have anything better to do with your time; making money is better than spending money.

Yes it is... I'm unfortunately not very good at it though lol

Truck is still where I towed it. Hopefully they get to it soon.

Somehow with all the money I have been spending on my tacoma and I have been almost solely paying for our rent, food and other utilities and going wheeling every other weekend or so my savings account has still been slightly increasing over the last 6+ months.

I run 20's on the Dmax, with 35's. It tows better with a skinny sidewall, not a squirmy and shit.

I hear the reason the bigger wheeled tires cost more (even though you are buying less rubber) is because it takes more engineering and work to get a skinnier sidewall to support the same amount of weight.

Couldn't you just run more air in your thicker sidewalls to take out the squishy. Haha. Although realistically 35's and a big lift aren't ideal for towing. Most dedicated tow rigs and such just run factory sized 31's and such.

Yup, they work well for hauling. Larger wheels with large tires keep it from walking.

Nope.. just ask when you get to a point where your stuck and don't bitch when I have to help..doing this shit isn't anything you just pick up. It takes time and energy to do it in a professional manner. And you tearing this apart is venturing into the realm of the professional and if your not careful what ever your working on could eat you up so to speak. So be careful and seek help. This isn't like tearing out a rear end.

Uh, I guess so. I run 60 PSI in these ones with a 28' trailer, so with 16's I would need like 100 PSI lol. It's not ideal for sure, but these things get high centered on a cow pie in stock trim, a lift is mandatory if you actually do work with them.

Oh no, I have no misconceptions that I'm gonna pick it up and it's gonna be smooth sailing. I'm prepared to ask for help and advice for sure if I decide to take it on.
