Why the new filters??

 

They are not new. Got them with the lights, have just never put them on. Are they supposed to change the color of the light? Sort of like an amber fog?

 

Yea they do. Just curious if you had a reason for it. Amber is best for dusty conditions I believe.

 

No reason, just curious. Do you know why they are not identical?

 

One is a spot beam and one is a "fog" the one with the hashed out center is the "fog".

Not a real fog cause the inner lens direct light so intensely it'll still have a spot. But it diffuses the light more casting it out, output is a tad lower.


My roof hella FFs have a pattern on it too that's a hybrid of fog and spot. Works epic.

Yours will diffuse a lot tho..weird they aren't the same...

No you'd usually want both to be the same. That way when aiming them they are the same. Cause you want the spots to be just touching so you get the longest spread.

Even tho you probably never turn em on probably haha

 

I did actually use them coming back late at night after the Imnaha weekend. They were set as spots and would light up shit a 1/2 mile down the road. Fairly useless in spotting the deer lurking on the side of the road.

Seriously, SERIOUSLY bright lights but what I really needed was a better spread of light.

Haha..would you believe it if I told you my roof lights are brighter..haha

And you will have to check out my mirror lights. They help a lot with the deer spotting. Not as much as my roof lights but still do. I can tell you when i went camping this spring with my bro it was freaking scary to see all the deer I normally miss. Was crazy.

But the mirror lights work great for that. Would be better if they were more powerful. But any more powerful and they wouldn't be pleasant on trails.

Really helps the FOV tho. Probably my fab set of lights.

Was a scary drive for me with all the deer out. I was tired after a loooong drive, it was raining and I cannot see at night as well as I used to be able to.

I am going to change my LFs from spot to flood, or at least was wide as they will go. Then aim them a little lower. I think that may suit my needs a little better.

 

Yay that'll work. I can't do that with my 240s. Well..I could..but the housings get too loose for my liking.
