    so did you fully weld both the inside and outside seams of your bumper?

    Yes i did. Probly a little overkill but i cant seem to leave a seam unwelded... maybe slight OCD :eek:

    I tacked it every 6" along every seam. Then welded 6" beads randomly on the outside and inside seams making sure it wouldnt warp or bend. I got a little lazy and started going faster and welded more on some sides than others. That cause major issues and the bumper started to frown.. not good. So i had to make some cuts in several areas and clamp the shit out of it to bring it back straight. Then welded again.

    Word of advice. Tack your project to a steel table while you weld it so it doesnt warp or bend. Also make your frame supports wider than your frame.. like at least 1/2". I made mine 1/4" wider and well metal really shrinks when you weld. I went to test fit the bumper and it didnt fit on the frame. Had to cut out the supports and weld in another one :mad:

    Not sure I trust my life with your welds ;) haha Username's have stood up to the test. Yours have not been tested... I'm sure even bad welds would hold up well to the weight of just a spare tire and cooler.

    I did have my truck pulled out once in moab and twice here in idaho with my welds. so they hold haha. I guess i just need more stuff to weld on and build and they will look prettier

    I put the frame tabs on the bumper while at konstas. I would have done the bumper if ian's welder didnt shit out and I actually had some time

    I took a bunch of welding classes my whole last year of HS. I actually do know how to use one of those things haha. its not like i just stick the wire to the metal and pray that some magic happens

    aww yeaa! i randomly set the welder to whatever numbers I feel like today, put the tip to the metal and turn my head away while wildly flailing the gun around the place hoping I get a get an arc
