i Dont want people to get me wrong so im gonna clarify.. I dont think Mark should recieve less flak for his welds. I think he should get a thumbs up or something for trying.. I know since Ben started welding his he has gotten better and better, though he did practice on scrap befor he layed weld on his Runner.

I think Ben (m3bassman) and I are the only ones who can't give him shit. Ben welded his sliders on and took a lot of flak for those welds but they hold, and I haven't welded shit. That's why I just sit back and watch everyone mess with Mark about his welds. haha

Mike (mh.meier) has his own fabrication business and built almost all the shit on his Taco and Monte has done a shit ton of welding on his rig as well.

hence my second post so they wouldn't get me wrong i bet both of them turned out some shitty welds when they first started but i welcome mark's willingness to experiment on his own truck.. even if his welds do look like shit they are holding thus far..

Yep flak is just part of the game though and oh yeah I remember my first weld I ever did. It was on that maroon chev I had doing the exhaust. It didn't look pretty by any means but it held. He is also dealing with a shit machine. Been there don't that. They are hard to get to work right. If I was out closer to Boise I would go help him but alas I am not ;)

I am going to welding school for a reason you know. I actually really like welding. Couldn't tell you why though. Just do

Hell yeah I practiced. I had never welded a vertical lap joint like that before. Even got a thumbs up from the welding instructor at the school I will be attending :) can a long way since my first weld. I applaud mark for taking the initiative to keep going. And for his credit the welds he did on his bike looked a lot better.

Maybe it is time for a "Mark, you're super awesome and we really love you, don't take it persoanlly, you're a great sport" thread.

Not that I've ever had the pleasure of actually sitting at a campfire and drinking a beer with him.

    Or any of you guys.

    :(

Fuck Ford... The A/C compressor took a shit in his 2000 Explorer and the pulley started smoking while he was up here in Poky so he limped it to my place. After doing some googling we found the right size belt to just bypass the A/C. Well Ford was brilliant and put the tensioner pulley on the bottom of the motor and the fan is so fucking close to it that I pretty much couldn't fit my hand in there with a wrench to loosen it. We finally got it though and it is running again. haha

Made me check out mine and my fan is a good 6" from the fan so there is plenty of room to work. I don't even think the radiator was 4" from the motor...

I'm a victim of circumstance :anonymous:
We just had 4 nights of campfires in the mountains. Those were my first campfires since April, when we had one. We are working on fixing this...

I can feel the love in here guys haha!! <3

as far as the shitty rack...that gets a special place in the shitty weld hall of fame. I can admit that. I need to just go buy some flat metal and lay some decent beads k?

Konsta thanks for the positive encouragement :D:D
Practice makes perfect for sure. Just need to find more projects to weld.

scott...you are absolutely correct we all need to get back together for a good ol camping trip! Come hang out with us more baby doll?

i feel like you are like my goofy hawaiian brother, just less mechanically inclined than I.

we all have our moments...like when monte put his front axle seal in backwards...then tried to tell us how that was how it was supposed to go
