Hey guys quick ? (Trying to do a cheap lift)

Tried to get someones old spacer lift for free or near free with no luck.

Then this for the rear:

Then I would need longer shocks for the rear and new U bolts? Or can I re use my old ones if I can get them off with threads still in good shape? Or are the U bolts actually longer?

Ps, also would it sit level with a 3" front 2" rear? It will be on a A/T type 31" tire

 

You'll most likely not need new u bolts but it's a very good idea to replace them anyways and a you will need a new center pin bolt.

It would sit close to level. Hard to tell. Your stock coils are no doubt sagging a lot so you won't get 3" total. The AALs will ride about the same.

Not sure what your rear shocks are but if they are like standard 5100s you'll be fine. If they are stock rears. You'll need new shocks.

That all said.

I'd STRONGLY recommend just waiting and saving up for a better lift

 

When your reccomend a 'better lift' you mean new front shocks and springs?

So the only reason you'd replace the U bolts is just good measure AAL doenst req longer U bolts, right?

Im sure the front suspension could be overhauled but if I do shocks springs may as well do bj's tie rods etc etc etc lol

Could anyone clarify the diff between the 2 AAL. Which would be better (suprized the HD is cheaper???)

 

Just a different brand of AAL. Ben has the procomp. Several have the toytech. Think they are about the same though in terms of performance.

I THINK the ubolts will fit. But I would be a bit surprised if they did. U bolts are cheap though anyways. I'd just get new ones.

Not sure why you'd need new BJs and tie rods and all right away. If those things need replaced you need to replace them before the spacer anyways. Spacer is still a lift..

The ride will be way way better with a new shock and coils. Really if you can just save up for a while and get a full OME kit from wheelers you'll be WAY better off.

The setup your talking about now is just band aids and in the long run a waste of money as they will be replaced anyways.

 

Truck has 145k on it. Im sure stuff's getting worn out or already worn out lol.

Yeah, my pro comp add-a-leaf is pretty much gone for lift haha

I keep putting off new leafs though...

57 coordinates with a 0.0002 tolerance

Its tool point math for programming CNC's so every smaller circle is the end mill.... say if I were to cut it out on the machine it'd look like this

 

Yeah most of it is just trig but better make sure every angle and length is correct before you use it for reference for other points

 

Normally we would use Mastercam or software like that to program, but for hand programming G-code we have to use toolpoint math

 

Stock length bolts fit fine, but it's always better to be safe

Same here.

My toytec aal did a great job, and my leafs were pretty sad. Monte is right though just save up for an actual lift kit, you might as well replace the worn parts anyways.

So I went out to my Taco this morning to grab some tools and as I was climbing over the tailgate I noticed some broken plastic on my rear bumper and thought, Fuck! did I break one of my taillights while I was wheeling Friday? Checked my tail lights over and they were fine. Then I noticed a lot bigger pieces on the ground around. I think somebody ran into my Taco sometime between Friday night and this morning. haha Not a mark on the Tacoma though, other than the few pieces I found sitting on my bumper. Plate bumper FTMFW!
