Do you eat out a lot or what? My wife and I averaged $280/month over the last 3 months, but that includes me drinking 3 mountain dews a day that adds up to about $160 of that each month. Then we ate out about 1 a week for those 3 months which added on another $120/month to that.

So if you cut out my mountain dews and quit eating out, we would average about $130-$140/month for the two of us.

FYI, I had to make a very detailed budget to prove that I could afford to drop some money into some parts for the Taco so that is why I have that information so readily available. haha

On that mountain dew note, I was drinking about 3 per day at $1.80 each and that adds up to about $120/month. Just think about those fuckers that go to starbucks 2-3 times a day at like $4+ per drink. That is $360/month on just coffee:eek: and for starbucks I think that $4/cup is conservative...

That is thrown into mine as well. I live right next to Winco and buy everything from there and I just pulled the receipt totals each time and added them up. Don't have a pet though.

You dudes need to start killing stuff and eating it. An elk tag is pretty cheap, and it will feed two for a year. I'm still eating on the bear I killed in August 2012, and it only cost me $14.50 for the tag and one arrow! (he broke it in two).

Pound for pound I'm pretty sure my elk cost me more than beef at the store does... Although I paid somebody to cut and wrap it for me since I didn't have the means to do it myself at the time and the place I was hunting at was 60-70 miles away from me so I spent a lot in fuel as well that hunting season getting it. That was two years ago and we still have quite a few steaks left in the freezer. Ran out of hamburger months ago though.

Hey Ben, I got an infrared spaceheater that heats our whole apt for about 100$. its cost us about 9 cents per hour when its on so at max it costs us 65 a month for heat and the thing definitely doesnt run 24/7. We've been able to leave our electric heat off and its been below 20's here at night and already our bill was almost half what they were last year this time of year. Idk how big ur place is but might look into it.

    yea..but not a cheap investment..need a gun/bow, camo stuff, time, and knowedge..

i mean..if i was back in Wy, id just get a deer tag..damn cheap and easy to find there and i have the gear for it.

plus you have to get it butchered with is pricey too. i mean..you can do a lot if it yourself..but again..lots of time..

It certainly can. If you pay a guide, buy a four wheeler, get a fancy rifle, get a trophy mounted, etc. I just drive out in the woods and shoot one with a rifle or bow I've owned for years, and I don't really count the gas because I'm usually out in the woods anyway, plus where I hunt is close to my house. I also cut and vacuum seal my own meat, and borrow my dads grinder for sausage and burger. I did buy a new bow this year, but I shoot it year round so it's pretty cheap entertainment.

I've got a bow you can borrow and I'll cut and wrap your meat in trade for the backstraps. :D

I am my own guide. haha. I already own a rifle and a shotgun (walmart specials, bought both for less than $200 each). I don't need a 4 wheeler. I have my Tacoma for getting to places on the roads and can hike for everything else. When deer hunting it is close to my parents house so you can chalk the gas up to the fun and we cut and wrap our own deer, but I shot my elk in a whole different county (and not even a neighboring county), so gas was spendy just driving to there and back. My parents and I just didn't have time for cutting and wrapping it, especially since we were working on the 3 deer we got that year as well.

I would like to buy a bow just to shoot, especially since you can use 1 arrow over and over again unlike bullets. I don't know that I would get into archery though. I don't know anything about it.

My wife and I have yet to turn our heat on. Even though it's been in the 20's and 30's the last couple weeks our place has yet to drop below about 50* (I assume we are getting heat from the walls of our neighbors, we live in a town house apartment. We just wear a jacket around the house and sleep with a couple extra blankets.

I don't seem to have that problem. Although I am sleeping at night and leave in the mornings and in the evenings to about when I go to bed around midnight, it is usually in the high 50's too low 60's which is warm enough for me with a jacket.

I imagine we will be turning our heat on before too long though. Goodbye low power bill...

Possibly. Is he cranking the heat up as well? Maybe the heater in his room is cranked. I have a friend who would keep his room in the 90's year round. I shit you not in the middle of summer he would run a space heater in his bedroom!
