This is what I spent an entire semester in lab working on last year.




We programmed it to do several different things and in the end had to write our own program to get it to do something we came up with. I built an ALU with several different functions and it would display it all in actual numbers on the display rather than binary with lights.

One of the guys built it to play Yahtzee except with 4 dice instead of 5 due to only have four 8-bit displays.

 

I give so many props to you computer science/electrical engineer people. That shit is so far over my head it's crazy. If I had 3 years like you guys I could probably figure it out...but I would get pissed and give up so quickly. Nothing in me wants to do that haha.

 

You should come to my computer architecture and learn to code in strictly binary. It is fucking ridiculous and I am stunned at just how complex processors really are So many 1's and 0's! haha

 

I like DC motors. So simple to understand. Fuck Induction and Synchronous motors, or maybe just fuck AC in general. haha

I know. I mostly have my mind wrapped around AC but DC is just so much easier to calculate. haha No phase angles to worry about with DC. I do know that AC has many advantages though, but anymore we are getting to where DC can keep up with a lot of the stuff we started using AC for in the 1st place. AC is still easier to produce that DC though I guess. haha
