Yup I'll be free that Saturday. How far are the dunes from Idaho falls?

 

Boy, sure am glad I suggested going to the dunes, so glad I can't go lol!

 

Just gotta start heading home sat night/sun morning. Or if the pass is rideable and anyone is looking to earn some turns.

Either way would be good to meet up.

St Anthony is bad ass! I would probably not be riding, as it will be freezing. A nice CC truck sounds better lol. But I haven't ridden the dunes this late in te year so I wouldn't actually know

dunes are good even with a little snow big dunes are open little r closed for winter wildlife refuge

 

I've never actually been to St. Anthony. Looks like they are about an hour North of IF. The Lake Channel dunes are about 45 minutes west of Pocatello.

I haven't actually looked up in the mountains lately... but not very much. I have yet to get into any snow. Shelley and the Lake Channels dunes never get more than a few inches all winter so they are always open.

We drove through this place at like 10 at night on our way to the dunes. Was pitch dark, on a barren back coutry road in the middle of nothing.Couldn't see anything, and we get to this little town of nothing with a sign that says Atomic City, and a bunch of lights off in the distance. We convinced ourselves we were going to get carjacked and murdered by mutant east Idaho towns people. Really scenic town, with it's one bar and one store.

Nathan from CBI said it takes him ~40 min to get to the dunes from IF. He said they're a blast! Also Steve(CBI founder) told me a bunch about them too.

 

God damnit guys! There is no way I will have my DMZ kit on by then... haha

 

Similar to CO. Variety of terrain is amazing. Not all mountains here. But that's the good stuff unfortunately our secret is out

Wish I had more time to check out more.
