so i got my cb all put in and tuned and just sitting there the speaker seems pretty quiet, i can hear the weather report ( cobra 18) but it seems quiet. i was picking up some transmissions on other frequencies but they also were really quiet and i couldnt understand em. will the volume increase if i am closer to people broadcasting?

 

the volume is all the way up and the squelch is all the way left, and it is really really quiet. i still hear talking on 19 but its too quiet to make out

 

i dont want to put the radio back in and the dash together until i figure it out. could running it from the 15 acc cigarette lighter be under powering it? i tried googling the problem and couldnt find anything
