    Nitrogen isn't really supposed to be affected by heat plus it was doing this to us when my vehicle had been in the garage all day not moving. I thi k it has to do with where it stops in the lift. Like I was saying above how I can adjust my lift just by bouncing the vehcile up and down...

    You are supposed to have the full weight of the vehicle on the shock when adjusting them it says.

    I almost wonder if our rigs are too heavy for ORI's... the book says 600 psi max and we barely achieve lift at 600 psi... it says about 280 psi for a 4500 lb vehicle but we are still on the bumps at 280. Haha.

    JW said Jerry hasn't used a gauge to fill any of his. They just fill them til they look right.

    With the gauge on there while you bounce it up and down you will see the pressure go up and down as well. The increase in pressure is what slows the travel. When landing a jump for example that 700 psi at ride height can peak as high as 5000 psi. There is friction and heat involved but N2 has a mich smaller thermal expansion coefficient than say CO2 or oxygen so it doesn't expand as much at as temps increase.

    Whhhaaaaa?? Everyone else been saying they good for 1500psi...

    Or is that 1500psi max including compression of the shock? In which case..weak sauce.

    But they are rated 1900lbs each too so kinda doubt your truck is too heavy for it.

    That is very odd. And doesn't sound quite right. So one hard landing and you ride height drops an inch and if your suspension droops all the way you gain an inch on the fly?

    That's odd that it doesent go right back to where you had it set.

    from what i understand the ride height is controlled in a separate chamber from the shock dampaning, and that the psi controls the height

    if so, it might not necessarily be uniform, if it's entirely controlled by pressure

    Right so shouldn't that pressure stay relatively the same? Only that could really change it is heat. But as Brady pointed out, nitrogen doesn't get effected by heat hardly

    Yeah. Air is about 70% nitrogen.

    On the ORI's the upper chamber control ride height and shock rebound while the lower dampens rebound so the 2 chambers works against each other.

    JW and I are kind of in between that the ORI's are always going to have that ride height play in them and that the air shock just isn't as static and fixed as a coil spring or that they will even out better as the seals break in.
