Whats is the tool inventory?? lifts, balancers, welder, bender notcher etc...
What is the inventory on hand?? what is new... what is old
What customer bills have been left unpaid??

What business bills are not paid?
What is rent?
What is the operational cost to operate the business month to month??



If the Assets to owed portion is even, It will make it tough to know what to value the business at.... I may tell him im in it for the shop, but not the race truck and I may get him to split the race truck from the shop.....


I really cannot see the business in it current state being worth more than 50k without the racetruck.... if that's the case than I will offer 25% of the business value in financial backing, but that means no cash flow just asset management and agreement of me fixing the shop's current issues.......

I dont mind bailing him out, I want to discuss with the silent owner what his expectations are if he wants to sell his 20% share in the company too.....

this is why proper accounting is so important hahahaha. if he kept proper books with traditional depreciation and up to date operating asset ledgers that would be no problem. Im going to guess the biggest issue for you now is the how big uncollected account % is, and what the collect-ability is. If its a pretty low %, like the 5% range i would just think its a poor management issue. At the same time im not sure how easy valuing the actual tools will be, and the over all value of the business. Thats your deal you are figuring out when you go in with your cute little clipboard haha
