meh, i don't think the brake mod is that worth it really..

Ill take the cheaper tires and just rely on my 5spd more. Now if your an auto..i can see your logic.

I think it will make a big difference once you get.bigger tires and more weight.added to the truck. Especially doing highway speeds and having to stop suddenly

    that is true..

Of course..you do know that with the right rim and BS you can run a bigger brake i think..

I mean my rims clear 01-04s calibers..which normally you can' put 15s on..

Im going with a 1st gen tundra caliper swap. I know a guy who did it on his 4runner, made a huge difference. The reason I want to do it is cause when I had the 285's and fully loaded I had a hard time stopping quickly. Just feel more comfortable.

Alot! Id guess they are like 55-65 each with wheels

Yea I know that mod. Is a write up on here somewhere. Was bummed I couldn't do it when I first found it.

And like I said..you can still make 15s fit a 16" brake caliber. Almost positives I could on mine

kinda off topic but about braking.. in the county i live in. the interstate speed is 55MPH for trcuks and 65 for cars. i HATE when i’m going with traffic usually around 70 to 75. and i’m getting passed by big ass trucks that back a few miles had a small hill and had their flashers on. i can stop 10x or more faster than they can. one day this happened and a car i new the driver got pulled over for doing around 73mph. i was doing about the same and a truck passed me and did not get pulled over he must have been doing 80mph in a 55. pissed me off. it much more dangerous for him doing that speed than for me.

    /rant.

I met of with bskin (Bryant) and sold him my canopy. He has a sick truck. I think I drooled a little over his Relentless bumper. I've been wanting the high-clearance with tire swing since I was bit with the mod bug.

Speaking of CB's, this sale allowed me to finally get my CB back in order. I have receiver tucked vertically in my center console (hacked a little of the bottom to have it recessed and gain access to power/ground) and a trusty rail mounted firestick.

Edit: The speak to text feature on my Galaxy SII is really accurate and has been a feature I've used quite a bit recently. My poor iphone 4 hasn't been turned on for SOOO long.

Cheapest ones I could find on Amazon with free/prime shipping (prime is f'in sweet). Radioshack would be my only local source I would think.

I am only using a simple Midland 1001Z, tunable 4' FireStik II, with FireStik K-6 mounting plate (washer will work for a bed-rail mount and is SOLID).
