    A spare CV axle and a LBJ with bolts are most important and will get you off the trail in the event of a failure.

    It is almost impossible to anticipate every possibility so you'll have to rely on your mates for help with items you need but don't have. I do recommend an OSK and just starting to accumulate stuff as you go. Pay attention to what others carry and what the use in emergencies.

    Yes, the inner tierod has a washer that goes right up against it. After you tighten it, it has to be crushed to lock it. But there isnt enough room next to the washer to fit a regular crescent wrench. Not sure what they are called, but you would need a narrow jaw style adj wrench to fit there

    I didnt have the right size wrench so im not sure if it would have fit. Biggest i had was 22mm, so im guessing its 24mm or bigger

    The bellow is that rubber accordian stype cover over the inner tierod. I was talking about the clamp that holds it to the rack.

    On my parts the jam nut is a 27 mm and the inner tre where that washer fits up against is ~42 mm. I was going to use a pipe wrench on it.

    The castle nut for the outer tre is 24 mm

    Yeah, I've watched that a few times now. Cody used a pipe wrench and a 27 mm open end wrench in that video. He also made it look really easy, as if everything had been apart already and was just finger tight. I don't expect mine to come apart that easy.

    Yes. I used two crescent wrenches to tighten the jam(outer tierod nut) to the inner tierod. But the inner tierod to steering rack requires two wrenches. One to hold the steering rack rod and one to tighten the inner tierod. Ive used a pipe wrench on the inner but you will need a narrow wrench to fit on the steering rack rod.

    I don't know if it was necessary or not but I got new jam nuts too in case I cant get to old ones apart I can just pull the inners and outers out as a unit.

    Ya it was like 1/4" or 3/8" wide by 16" long. I just tighten the shit out of it. Im sure a hose clamp will work. Might be a little too wide

    Do you know what size the steering rack rod is?

    Cody mentions in the beginning of the video needing a 28 mm wrench but never shows using it. I am wondering it that is it.
