You can run stock shackles with the leafs. I was just saying if you were going with longer shackles, then it may be pushing it with the 5100's. Just depends really.

 

it is pushing it haha. my 5100s limit my droop by almost 2" i believe

want to say it was 22 with shocks and 24 without eye to eye

 

What would ya tell me to run if i didnt already have the 5100s?

 

I'd recommend Bilstein 7100's if you want to stick with Bilstein. I'd run them if I wasn't too OCD to run different shocks up front and rear in the future..

im pretty sure its only relocating the front hangers about 7" forward thats the big part, guess i should go all out and angle some 12" shocks too. i might be making a couple trips to konstas place this year......

 

I'm good now. haha. My springs hang down lower than the drive shaft so it would take a single rock to catch it, which a trac bar isn't real likely to catch anyway. And the biggest gain was us rotating the pinion up higher when we put the new leaf pack on. I think my old leafs were fucked up and caused the pinion to rotate down causing me to catch it on every fucking thing...

 

ah, forgot you said you got a trac bar... Yea that'l solve the leverage issue.

its like a catch 22 youre a bolt on type of guy which limits you making you wheel harder than anyone just to make it

Despite what brady says I will from now on always run a track bar. it only has one down fall.. extra weight..

Save em..get your rear lift setup...take em off. Flex it. Measure it. Sell them. Get new longer shocks and bumps.

Or relocate the shock mounts.


Allpro standard leafs are nice but they don't hold weight great from what i have seen.

Expos are gonna be over kill unless you have a rear bumper/tire gate, bed rack combo and a lot of gear in the truck when you wheel.


Shackles are great to raise the ass up a bit and add droop and even a bit of up travel. But you will need longer shocks to use it. They also add more leverage on the back of the leafs thus wearing out the leafs faster.

 

Two thoughts atm:

i dont wheel like you guys but am planning on a toolbox soon if that counts haha.

 

standard allpros should be fine then. If you get longer shackles you'll need 9-10'' shocks though.

Im going to agree with this guy go with standard springs to get the lift you want you can always add longer shackles later to address any sag
