I really want to get a tripod setup and learn how to take really low light shots

when I go home for spring break I'm gonna drive up to the top of Mauna Kea and take some sky shots

Night shots you need a tripod for sure.

I have a Visata something pro..like 20 bucks..has worked for what i want. Not a ball head sadly..but hold the camera for night stuff.

I love night photography too. Just fun.

hmmmm....i bet its closer towards Jackson and further north and west then where we were...not anywhere i have been.

If you look at a map of the Windies...its insane how many cool pocket lakes there are...and the continental divide trail goes by about 100 of em..i bet thats the trail actually he backpacked as the comments say he was backpacking.

    but honestly..no idea..great photo though.

Milky way shots are awesome as well..but the star trails are surreal..which is part of the appeal. Milky way is daunting..i love em both..so cool.

here is one you will love i am sure of

Well shit. I wasn't really expecting to get a tax return because I figured it would just go into our joint savings account which we don't really touch. Just got our paperwork back and we owe $2000... There goes my savings account...

ISU only takes taxes out of my pay check during the summer when there is no work study, so I had assumed that work study was tax exempt when I am getting it during the spring and fall. Just googled it and apparently not, so I'd guess that is where about half of that $2000 came from. I'd guess the other half was her cattle.

Yep... I'd guess that means I can do Moab this summer but that will probably be it. Don't want to stretch my money too tight...
