    It's not shit, it's just not as precise. The weld itself is wider, but just as strong as TIG. In many applications, MIG is much stronger. Notice how clean every joint is on the Camburg build? You don't have to do that with MIG, especially flux core. You can burn right through the scale and pickling to produce a strong joint. That is not the case with TIG. In addition, did you notice the tack welds on those tubes? MIG. You can do it with one hand. I'm not trying to dis TIG, I'd love to have one, but even at my income bracket it isn't a reasonable purchase, and I make a metric fuckton of money.

    Why I like using hand tools to make stuff. Just get lost in perfecting the one thing at the time. Super fun. Glad my dad is such a hand tools guy.

    You guys and your welding talk of mig this and TIG that. Tig is a our weld and can't get slag inclusions. Mig is easier and for most off-roading applications it is all you need. If you welding aluminum or stainless then TIG is the way to go. If you want the penetration them go with FCAW or stick. It all has a place.

    I am only going to school for this shit but then again I wouldn't know anything. Seen 1/16" FCAW burn straight through a 3/8" plate, needless to say that was cool

    its a tough fucking game getting your foot in the door, then again when you are trying to move up. What makes you so special? How are you going to market and sell yourself when you get graced with the opportunity to interview.

    Look in the right spots for jobs. Above all else, fuck find a mentor in the field to give you advice and coach you and help you get out to meet potential employers and net work NOW! Not when you are a month from graduation. Not necessarily looking for a job...try to get people to remember you.

    Think to yourself, if you only had 2 minutes in an elevator with the employer that could launch your career what would you say to him? How would you introduce yourself? How would you ensure that when you go for an interview down the road that he remembers you?

    Same damn thing in my field, every machine shop wanted 5years at least on CNC. I finally stopped calling the front desk and HR at the one place I wanted and called a machinist there and the next day he said he had his supervisor find my resume out of the stack on his desk and give me a look so he did and well I start on the 19th... Its all about getting behind HR and the front desk

    I've always thought it'd be a blast to build one of these. Cheaper than building a full blown race car yet you could probably smoke anything with 4 wheels with the right setup lol. Just don't flip it! :D
