$3 shop time is cheap. Do you get to use their hand tools as well?
$45/hr labor is a good price, at least for western WA. I expect to find $60-75/hr.

 

Any tool they have I can use.

 

I know the factory LBJ's are way better but the last set of moog joints I ran where reboxed triple 5's and with a life time warranty can't bitch.. then again it's nothing for me to change them.

 

Got a set of Moog uppers on the truck currently.

Have a set of Moog lowers and tie rods that are going on the truck.

The reason I'm not doing the lower ball joints myself is because since I'm having the wheel bearings replaced (no way I have the tools to do that myself) there is no point in not having them replace them for me while the spindle is off.

 

fair enough.. if you lived closer to me I could do them in in 30 min..

 

I had no trouble r2 ing them on my white taco.

In other news..

should I fly to Des Moines Iowa to get my dad's 93 yota with 108xxx has all records since new but has hail damage now :/

$45/ hour is a steal! I would get them to do it Brent for that price. We pay $80-$100/ hour up here for labour.

 

Fuck yes go get that shit. Turn one truck into a dedicated wheeler to the point that she isn't street legal and put her on a trailer to get around.

boss sent me to an old car grave yard to pull some rare parts off a cady for this other car a customer is having restored. then I see on a 1970 coup with a factory C A and F tone horn still on them I snagged then up and the guy was like oh you can just have those things they probably don't even work. well after working them over at the shop they all work. Now when the SAS is done and I honk the horn people wont think it's a Honda behind them..

For 7 months ive been waiting for the warm, perfect nights where I can just cruise in a t shirt and be super comfy and have a relaxing ride. The night has finally come. I rode the bike all over boise today, then back to meridian as the sun was setting. All day the bike rode perfectly, fired right up, idled fine (has some mean back fire lol), and didnt death wobble with my hands off above 30 mph. 50 miles in a day may not be a lot for most people, but on something I have been rebuilding for the last 7 months and to have it come back and not leak anything at all...im ecstatic in a way ive never been before.

It's a good feeling for sure. I've been riding my bike every day for a month because the taco is down. It's nice to rip around on a bike, but sometimes you have to get creative to transport stuff on it. It does wheelies pretty easy with an optima battery on the back though!

 

Heck yeah do it! It's free. You can even pay to get it fixed since you're not paying for the truck itself.
