I got to wheel my truck again this weekend. It was wonderful. Yet again, went out and rock crawled like a boss and didnt break anything or damage anything. Its so nice

 

That was a long drive. Put on almost 4000 miles in 9 days. Colorado is cool. Cruised around Moab some too. The best part is this-





Going to install ARP wheel studs next.

I just drove up there last week. Those videos seem impressive until you've actually driven it, then they seem insane. We went on a weekday when it wasn't busy, and 450hp wasn't enough to push much past 45mph lol. With a full size truck you kind of come to a stand still and pivot off the inside tire even with a scandanavian flick going into the turns. They are the sharpest corners I have ever driven.

 

I still think doing the chief Joseph and beartooth road here would be cooler

 

"Doing WaBDR" can mean a lot of routes. It is possible to bypass that mess by staying closer to the eastern slopes of the cascades or even crossing over to the dark/wet side for some of it.

If those guys intend to follow the exact route laid out in the website (like we tried to do) then they will likely have trouble or may bot be able to get thru at all. That entire section from Cashmere to Winthrop is or has been on fire this week.

Have you driven up Pike's Peak? I want to go. And if Ben is there, then we can make a true comparison with cheif Joseph.

 

I've told Monte but i want to go next year for the event. I was going to go this year but it falls on my anniversary... going next year though! Can do some wheeling while in CO too!

Yeah, most likely the Wenatchee then. Almost looks like it could be west and north of Leavenworth too. Wow. There is a section of hwy 2 that follows the river through a canyon like that. Leavanworth is right as you come out of the canyon when your coming from the west.

 

I haven't. But the beartooth and chief Joseph back to back would be one hellacious sprint.

Fire is a crazy amount of work, fire season is only getting longer and hotter, it's crazy how much money the feds are throwing at it. Containment is almost a joke sometimes, depends mostly on the weather is how I see it. Great picture, but sad, yes.

 

When I was up by lake wenatchee 2 weekends ago, it was tinder dry. Especially in the direction of Leavanworth.

What is happening in ID this summer? Any word on fire conditions in places like the Magruder corridor?
