That's rediculous. I can still leg press, gotta be better than putting 200 lb of weight in a back pack

Wow! I would pick a cheaper shade of red if I were painting a vehicle that isn't a viper... why was Viper Red so important?

I don't know why they picked that for it. but hey it's free to me. red is the most expensive color out there. just had my girls front bumper painted and it cost me $120 for a pint of victory red. I will never own a red vehicle.

^ saw that earlier. Walked around saying "aloha snackbar" all day. :D

In other news got my new Tom Wood's one piece drive shaft in. I had no idea my truck rode so smooth. I attributed all of the nasty vibrations to double beadlocks and old hand grooved military tires, but I was wrong. It was the driveline all along. The ears on the diff end of the shaft were wahnged about 1/2" off center. I don't even know when I did it, but it's been several years ago. Rides like a new caddy now, just a little noise from the detroit on sharp corners. I'm as happy as a puppy with two peters.

Nice Dodge tacomakid! That's one of the most reliable rigs ever made. Don't overtune it and it will last forever.

Thanks man, I have a exhaust and intake on it but other than that I'm keeping it stock.

What's the main difference from your new driveshaft vs a stock Toyota shaft?

The factory one is two piece, the one I got is one piece. The factory carrier bearing is garbage, and I replaced mine with a solid bearing similar to what is in an F-350. It worked good but over time developed some gnarly vibrations. My truck has taken some really hard hits though, like frame bending hits, so I don't know exactly when I bent the driveshaft. It just got worse with time. I recently changed my U-joints and noticed the C-clips would fit right...that clued me in the ears were bent. What transmission do you have in the dodge? If it's the 5 speed manual don't forget to pin 5th gear on...the NV4500 is famous for dropping fifth off the shaft. Other than that, rock solid 300K+ mile rig no problem. I have been keeping my eyes pealed for one myself, but everyone around here knows what they are worth...

Damn man, well hopefully this one can take a beating and still maintain drivability!

Ya it has the nv4500 5 speed.. The previous owner told me he tabbed the 5th gear nut when he put the new clutch in. And I just installed a FASS 150 gpm lift pump 2 weeks ago so hopefully I'll have smooth sailing. It's definitely one hell of a fun powerful truck that gets great gas mileage even with the 35's.

don't you just despise all that sheet metal I know I hate mine. cant wait to dump the only main piece of dodge drive train and get my NV4500 put in.

Well the wife and I finally arrived in Boise yesterday and we are loving it and happy to start our new adventure here. If anyone sees a white 2nd Gen taco with ugly turquoise NM plates, that would be me.

Saw a few tacos rolling around town already and an awesome black FJ with Rotopax and an FJ Summit trasharoo on the back.

I hope to get to meet some of you in the near future!

Welcome! There are only a couple of guys in here from Boise. The rest are farther up north and down to the Southeast.

I agree my cousins old bed is completely rusted all through and he doesn't live in that bad of a climate. Toyota Metal/paint is definitely higher quality
