Idaho BS thread in the PNW

We just aren't high speed enough to turn wrenches on them. I had an old Mercedes 230TE turbo diesel in Germany and the starter went out. It took me three days to change it in the parking lot. Turns out you are supposed to pull the motor to change it. The engineers that designed it knew that of course, but I got it changed with good old fashioned American brute force and ignorance. Also a cutting torch. I love German cars.

But I understand well the sacrafices you make to establish yourself and set yourself up for future success

 

just buy a older model tdi. Like 01-04, it'll cost ya like 7-9k for a good one and you will get like 40mpgs. Plenty of money left over to buy a sporty car too.

 

hell a Toyota eco gets that kind of MPG's and you can pick one up in mint condition for 4K not only that but diesel is more expensive. Not to mention parts are more for the Euro trash.

Hello my Idaho brothers

 

mean while I has soon to be sugar momma that owns property in Sandpoint.

 

I have a 120 mile round trip that I do 2-3 times a week.

My little POS Hyundai cost me $2K eigth years ago. It'll still pull about 32 mpg doing 85mph on the freeway driving it like I stole it.

Driving it more mellow at 55mph it'll pull over 50 mpg.

While all 102HP at the crank isn't that fun off the line having that 3rd pedal still makes it fun to take through the corners and while it can't pass like the Taco can it still passes just fine, you just have to pin it a little earlier than I do in the Taco.
