I noticed that with my car last week. Was a little sluggish starting but it started fine. Shifting gears sucked balls though. It particularly didn't like going into 2nd gear, it took a little bit of fight.

 

I have a remote start and dual red tops .

 

I took it off this summer. It did a good job of heating the trans oil, but the clutch was still extremely sluggish. I wonder if they make lighter weight dot4 or something that does better in the cold. I run mineral oil in my KTM's hydraulic clutch. That might work?

 

they also make a synthetic high temp dot 3 that performs as well as dot 4. I use it for my breaks and it works great.

 

-10 this morning and started like a champ.

I don't have a block heater but they are definitely nice to have.

Really need to look at a remote start.

 

Alright guys. Need some opinions on a new front bumper. Looking at a tube bumper. Dont want the TG cause it doesnt suit the 95-97 models very well. Dont really want a plate bumper either unless the Apex goes on sale

Also looking at upgrading the front end suspension. Thinking OME or SAW. Obviously SAW is the way to go but not sure i want to put $800-$1000 on suspension right now. Maybe 882 and nitro sports?

 

Why not saws? I don't see why putting in more money is an issue..adding OME is just going to add to the total overall cost

 

I would love to get them but im in need of some new suspension soon. My billies have over 100k kms and the toytec coils are just too stiff and causing all my front end components to fail prematurely. The OME is a softer ride, no? Maybe i could do some saws, the 2.0s are only $700 right now.

Plus if i went ome, i would drop the saws altogether

 

If you got a bumper the eibachs would ride much better. Heavier the better.

Saws are rebuild able. OME is a throw away. Will last a bit longer possibly then the billies.

Not like you need 2.5s. Just get the 2.0s

 

I have OME shocks on my runner and I have to admit the ride is great. Super smooth on and offroad. Of course all the weight helps.

I have the same view as Ben, eventually I will probably upgrade them to an extended length, thinking icons, but until then its working just fine.

 

It isn't the coils that are causing the stiffness you are experiencing. It is the billies.

The least expensive choice for you would be to continue to run the toytec/eibach coils with new struts. When you add the aftermarket bumper you will need, at the very least, the 620# coils you have now.

However, IMO, the advantage of adjustability outweighs all the other reasons for upgrading the coilovers. The SAW 2.0s are an inexpensive option to get that adjustability. They are plenty of shock for our trucks and come with 650# eibach coils.

I would still be running SAWs if I could have run 700# coils with them. Your truck weighs a lot less than mine, you'll be fine.
