Hey guys...from FL here.

Some buddies of mine live in Boise. 4-5 of us are flying in to visit at the end of Feb and planning on hitting up Brundage to get some snowboarding in.
Any of you have any experience there? How is it? I am sure it is better than anything I have been to on the east coast but at first look of the mountain and stats I can say I wasn't that impressed as it looked to be roughly the same size as some or the places I have been to over here (obviously the snow will be better).

Anyway just looking for any thoughts/comments from those who have boarded there....
Either way I am super stoked!!

I can give you opinions and insight for a while, but it's kind of too much to post. I guess what are you comparing it to? Vert is like 1600 and acreage is pretty darn good, as is quality of acreage. Almost all of the MTN is totally rideable which is greate compared to some places where you go into the wrong valley and you could be hiking out for a while. Lift lines are almost never a thing and the snow is phenomenal. That goes without saying that some stretches suck ass. Ive been to brundage and had just sheets of ice. Also been there on 18" pow days. There are plenty of cliffs to huck off, only draw back is the gnar cliff section has some flat run outs that can become a pain in the ass when there is a foot of fresh and you bury yourself from falling 15 ft. I love Brundage and that's where we head of there is a good storm rolling through. Where are you staying? What dates? I'm no local and I don't know the mtn like the back of my hand but id be super down to ride and party with you all if it's over a weekend.

Having not skiied the big mtns on the east coast i cant really talk to how it compares, but if the snow is fresh, I reallllly doubt you will be disappointed

 

Nice well if you like it I am sure it will satisfy me. Mainly I am comparing it to Snowshoe Mtn in West Virginia. I am not super sure about any of the details of this trip honestly. My buds wanted me to go so bad since I have a baby due May 25th that they bought me a plane ticket.
All I know is it is a short trip. Flying out Thursday Feb 25th...Think we will be getting up pretty early Friday morning to make the drive to the mountain from Boise (guess it is a roughly 2.5-3 hr drive according to Google). Hitting the slopes Friday...and I guess one of the guys has a very "rustic" cabin he is "cabin sitting" for some folks that are out of town (I have heard this thing is very rustic. Like no heat unless a fire is going so I picture something pretty basic)....guess we crash there Friday night...hit the slopes sat and head back super early Sunday for our flights back out of Boise.
I am just happy to get some boarding in before my baby comes...who knows when I will go again lol. My 2 friends that live in Boise haven't lived there very long so they prob aren't familiar with the Mtn that much. (One just moved there in Nov and the other has been there for maybe a year). I haven't seen some of these guys since college (graduated in 09) so it should be pretty fun to board with them again.

Completely failed with this one.. Bought a Napier Truck tent with my Christmas bonus from work, ended up being the wrong size and I can't take it back. (craigslist purchase)

 

looks sleep able to me ….all those bed tents don't fit perfectly, mine never did but it serves its purpose, keeping you high and dry. it does look like your bed should be wider though.

 

If it wasn't such a pain in the ass to put up and find anchor points on my truck for it, I would keep it. But because it isn't the right size it was just a cluster trying to get it to work.

 

anybody want to go near bogus and do the trail around there.

 

you guys could drive to sun valley and it would take you about the same time.

 

I mentioned this to one of the guys Friday (I have been to Sun Valley back in 2005) and looking at the trail maps of the 2 mountains it by far would be better. However, since we have that free cabin at the other mountain that saves a lot of $$$ for everyone.

Ya I know it warned up. But I was thinking maybe we figure something out down the line, when there is another good storm and I have the truck all done?

wheres your sense of adventure! I've never visited the north so itd be a good experience!
