I currently travel 25 minutes into work as it is, so the drive doesn’t bug me one bit, but I appreciate the advice on Meridian!

I would look for houses near the i 84 exits cause if you look in eagle/ meridian area you are land lock and take a good 20 minutes /30 minutes to get the free way.

Well I’ll be going to Boise State full time as a student (getting out of the Air Force) so my schedule may be very flexible depending on classes. Is traffic pretty bad heading in from Nampa into Boise? Meridian would be ideal but our budget for houses is a bit strict due to my wife being the only real one with a job

Probably a good call on the morning drive when we are out there. I hadn't really thought about that, but since the wife just got a corolla, I won't have to drive my truck in so MPG's and the drive may be kind of nice in the morning or maybe just get a morning class at like 10 haha

I would avoid meridian personally, it’s going through some serious growing pains. I live in Nampa and like my town but if I had to go to Boise everyday in the commute I would think south Boise maybe North Kuna to keep costs down.

Here's the next installment of our recent Idaho trip with @m3bassman and @pizzaviolence. Truly an amazing couple of days - the most glorious sunrise I've ever seen. EVER. And a really fun adventure to one of the highest roads in Idaho (and the excitement along the way). Oh, and the Sawtooths - so much, in so little time!

What about Meridian has growing pains? We have some friends who like it there, but we haven’t asked them much yet about the area. Is Kuna an alright place to move to?

How early in the year should I expect snow in the high passes? Trying to squeeze through the gap between tourists and snow in early/mid September to do a little exploring in the mountains.

    all of them

Probably the lack of infrastructure to support the massive growth here. That said, you'll see more return on your property value in Meridian than anywhere else (short of Eagle). The traffic here (especially compared to the bay) is negligible at best, more of an annoyance than a if I do this commute any longer I'm going to suck start a shotgun.

People love Meridian. Meridian is ground zero for the most active hottest real estate market in Idaho. Traffic/ schools are feeling the effects. Expect higher property tax levies in the near future to help combat the population growth. The growth makes it actually a little cheaper to look at Boise then Meridian. Kuna itself is a small town but on the North side lots of new home subdivisions put you about 5 mins from Meridian. So just a thought when you are looking around. Its probably going to depend on what you like in your town- I lean a little more country. Nampa and Meridian are very close size wise but Meridian is largely bed community to Boise a lot less indusrty/ag then Nampa but more retail/restaurant type business.

I really appreciate the input. This right here actually changed my wife and my opinion on where we are looking to purchase. We are definitely more of a country style type of people but wouldn’t mind Nampa one bit

Well we have a vintage decor store that we have open every Friday & Saturday on our 3 acre property in Nampa. Don’t hesitate to swing by to say hi when you get out this way.

Well I told my wife about your store and now apparently we have to stop by. Living in North Carolina has made her crazy about vintage & country decor so I’m sure she will spend all of my money Hana looks like anywhere between 16-30 Dec we should be moving in as well
