I could be convinced to make a road trip up that way. How much are you looking to get for them?

I can attest to clay mud is bad. I slowly slid about 5 feet and was starting to dip my wheels into a lake one time. That time I really needed to get pulled out by another vehicle further up the beach. It's just so slick and there is no traction in it.

Changed out the belt at 104k miles today OE belt had a few rib cracks on it and it was noisy on cold days, but the truck has been parked outside all except a few months of it's life since Nov 2013. Now I just need to find motivation to do all my fluid changes (coolant, power steering, brake fluid, trans) Did the diffs when I was recently fucking around with 4x4 actuators and had the t-case cracked open.

:spy: After much research on Crossover / SUV's and finding out MOST of them have CVT's (I've been told to avoid), I've narrowed down my list to either upgrading to a 4 door 3rd gen or a new Rav4.

I haven't got the chance to drive the new Rav yet, my mom has a 2011 and it's not my favorite, hoping the new design is better!

The MPG on the Tacoma's is off putting.

I had a 2014 Subaru Forester XT--great grocery getter and the 250HP was usable on it. It did have a CVT, but it's the best CVT I've ever driven. Actually took it off road a few times (just bumpy trails and a little mud) and it did fine. With the turbo, it's not as reliable as a Rav4 would be, but you could find a low mileage 2018 and it'd be fine for several years. Of course, if you want to stick to Toyota, the Rav4 hybrid is rather appealing.

Any photos, I could use a new tail gate... I shot a log chain into mine last fall. I know very stupid of me when trying to tow someone that was stuck.

Any recommendations on taco friendly shops in Boise as well? Sister has to get the brakes done on the truck and was quoted 6 hours from a shop for pads rotors and calipers.. seemed pretty high to me.

6hrs is far too long. Agree, unless theres is issue with calipers there no reason to mess with them
