Hey all, I moved to Boise from Denver area a few months ago. I’m diving into building out my 3rd Gen with lift, tires, re-gear etc. Any help as far as shop recommendations in the Treasure Valley area would be greatly appreciated! I’ve found a couple via google, but looking to get input based on any positive results group members here have had.

    Thanks,

    Nate

Wish we could help you out more. The only 2 shops I can think of are bucks 4x4 and 4 wheel parts. But I can’t give a recommendation on either.

There's Boise 4x4 but I haven't heard the best out of there either with more technical stuff. Bolt ONS like suspension I'm sure it's fine.

Got the service bulletin in the mail for my 3rd brake light "leak". (Even though when I originally looked up my VIN it wasn't included).

My question is, do I take my truck in for the free repair? Or do I just leave it. I don't like messing with something that isn't leaking, lol.

I would take it in its on their dime of course. It might not be leaking now but it might later on and they might be putting on an improved design.

    Is it a recall?

It's a known issue so why even question getting the free repair?

Didn't think about it possibly being an improved design. Makes sense.

It's a "service campaign", similar to recall but different verbiage due to it not being a safety issue? Idk.

I question fixing/breaking seals that don't leak because who knows if their replacement will be any better. I guess if it's shit, it's on them and I can take it back again.

Why does the fix exist in the first place? Because Toyota knows it is prone to failing. Just because it hasn't yet doesn't mean it never will. You do you but I'm a big proponent of free preventative maintenance.

Not too many. Taco Vinyl has opened a storefront here in town and has been putting out feelers of possibly being a one-stop shop for upgrades, installs, fab and service. Grain of salt and hearsay disclaimer applies. Do know someone close to the situation but there is nothing Happening soon. Had a buddy that used 4-wheel parts for a suspension/wheel/tire install and he was happy. Welcome to town.

It caught me off guard I was wondering where the plate was from and I had to double take it.
