The neighbor was mowing his lawn on Wednesday that’s a first for me in January
Glad it’s not a negative windchill

Need to get some more towels and upgrade the dog cover for the back seat. Fat Randy is happier than a hog in mud 4E49AFBC-E918-4C81-9D4B-62C0B32B3957.jpg

So my sister and I are planning to go up to McCall to go through the property that we inherited. I was wondering how much snow is there in McCall now, and when does the snow melt off enough to be able to clean up stuff on the property?

I suspect that the answer depends on factors like how flat the property is. Are there a lot of trees, is there a lot of shade? Is it in a valley or on a hill side? Is it south facing or north facing.

Obviously, if it is mostly a treeless meadow, any amount of snow will disappear long before something on a forested, north facing hill side.

It isn't just about temperatures and snow accumulations.

Good questions. It’s fairly flat, in the valley, not many trees on it. Since I haven’t been to the property, I don’t know the direction it faces.

Just trying to get an idea of the average time of the year ( month ) that the snow has disappear enough to get stuff done. To get old vehicles moved, trash hauled off, old builds removed. Thank you for any information you have about the area.

I'd say there's about 2.5 feet in town. It always amazes me how different the snow can be just a few miles away. I think around the beginning of May the snow should be gone, maybe sooner depending on the variables @Digiratus spoke of. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a mud pit then for you.

Are you looking to get rid of some old vehicles? Or just organize things better?

Thank you for the information. We are hoping to do both, get rid of some stuff and organize the rest.

A note for peeps in the Boise area. Taco Vinyl is expanding. They now have a storefront off of Fairview and have created a sister company at that location. @adventure_apex is doing suspension installs and various other mechanical/electrical installs with more to come. Also they are doing wraps and details. I had mine detailed by the person doing them and can confirm that high quality.

used at rei in Boise. It wasn’t open but the shell looked hardly used. A few scuffs on it.

REI supports companies that are trying to close forest roads and turn more national forest into wilderness areas. Your money and do with it as you please, just know what your money supports.

Please ignore if I'm posting in the wrong thread, BUT... Any Twin Falls kids in here?

My Dad's doing post-stroke therapy here, and I'm thinking of hauling my ass there from here in CO soon. What's the best family-restaurant Mexican food (or Tex-Mex) in town, and where's a decent place to stay for a night?

Southern ID has some of the best Mexican food we've ever had; and as far as a place to stay goes, I'm just looking for "safe enough".

Bonus points for helping me locate a proper, old fashioned strawberry milkshake for my Dad.

A good milkshake there’s one in Shoshone but it’s like a 20-30 minute drive from twin, Mexican food as long as you stay away from the big chain store you’ll get good stuff. Just look for the “hole in the wall” place and you won’t be disappointed. There used to be a place in downtown twin thst would’ve gotten you a good milkshake but it burned down a year ago or so.

Hey all... long story short, wife and I worked out a deal and it's time for daddy to get lifted...
Don't want to go crazy... 1-2" lift at most... gonna get new tires, etc... full set up.
Recommendations on shops in town with best customer service? Id like to work with someone who can give real input and experience on my rig. Not just there to sell me the most expensive stuff.

The suspension on these trucks is simple. Some generic hand tools and you can do it yourself and save some money.

I have your average garage tools... nothing major mechanic wise....
So you're telling me I could install this kit: https://www.4wheelparts.com/b/suspe...ems-and-lift-kits/_/N-cm868?_requestid=102638
Im sure I could you tube some videos... but then I think about alignment and what happens if something breaks in the first few miles...
I'd rather have a warranty on the work.
Any experience on what install costs on something like this? Im sure shops vary, but we looking at like $300, or $1000.... cuz that could make a difference on which way I go.

Link didn't take me to anything specific.
Alignment would still need a shop to do, no way around that. If you can torque down a bolt then there's no reason to need a warranty on the work, you would have a warranty on the parts regardless. I don't know the costs as I do the work myself, but imagine shop rates are $80-100/hr. You also have a great resource here, tons of people willing to help answer your questions.
