just saw the hunger games recently tonight...pretty big let down after reading the book. some of the most critical, emotional details and sections that made the book great were hardly touched on or ignored all together in the movie.

 

less than 10k more like 6 ish depending on who does the work. I'd do it my self.

 

but katniss is hot!!!! I can't wait to see who the choose for johanna in the second book

i will say though, that cramming the whole book into one movie and making it pg 13 really took away alot of the potential. it would have been better if it was r and they could have showed more graphic, emotional shit (but then they wouldnt have gotten the money from the minors) and if they broke it into 2 parts so they could actually cover the important parts and not just touch on them. honestly if you didnt read the book the movie looked like it wouldnt make much sense and it would be jumping all over

 

the movie did jump around A LOT. I think they spent too little time building up the storyline. and they left out way too much of the katniss/gale relationship.
dude who played haymitch nailed it though! and i never expiated Cinna to be black...

 

hahaha haymitch's character might just be my favorite (tied with kat, cuz she hawt lol)

me and my gf of course spent a while breaking it down after wards picking apart everything they left out and added. (just a few)

there was NO emphasis on how peeta was inches from death for about 4 days in the cave. in the movie the wound looked like a paper cut. not even the thunderstorm was added

the thing that forced kat and peeta to go meet cato was the fact that all the rivers and ponds got drained...that never happened in the movie either

they spend the entire night starving and freezing on the cornucopia, not 10 minutes. also the entire timeline for the final fight was totally off

the interaction between thresh and kat had zero emotion in it, where as it was a pretty big part in the book

they never really showed just how much peeta like kat and how much she didnt care



over all it seemed like they sort of hit everything in the book, but they did it so briefly and spent so little time on each important aspect most (if not all) just lost their meaning that contributed to the story.

 

I agree completely, and how much they hate the capital. There also wasn't much of an emphasis on how close kat and Rue were. The whole game lasted like 4 nights when the book it lasted like 3 weeks or more i don't remember exactly. they did a good job with the scenery though, like the capital, the people in the districts. Freaking nailed Effy pinkette, caesar, the president and the game maker though! just wait till you start the second book shit gets wild.

 

as i have heard. apparently they just get better each book...so for sure im looking forward to it. i pray to god they fix their shit for the next movie. it had the potential to be fan-fucking-tastic. but was just spread too thin. well im going to do some hw then be off to le bed.

Its a movie man. That kinda stuff is SO hard to capture on a film. Thats just were the good acting really comes in more then great production.

I thought it was a pretty well done movie really, i have seen it twice now as i work at a theater lol I wish they had just bit the bullet tho and gone fort a R rating. Then they could've taken the movie to a whole different level. Granted they couldn't do that do to their main target audience..but still. I think it woulda been better.
