Yea mine start at 1.5" out and flare to about 3-4 before a 6-8" kick out. I do like having then as steps. Will be great foe the roof rack

 

ALSO! this white...90s land cruiser (solid axles front and rear, diff locks, sliders, 34x12.5" bfgs, plate bumper, tons of off road stickers) that I see at school every now and then parked right next to me in a lot that had at least 10 other open spaces. Might have just been a coincidence, but i doubt it. So I put my screen name for planet 4x4 and asked if he wanted to go wheeling some time and left it under his wiper blade. Now, I wait.

 

Well the CB is like half way installed. I have power ran, I just need to attach it to the fuse box or battery under the hood. Now I am waiting on the antenna and coax cable to finish it out.

 

Just put one of these on your ACC fuse behind the coin tray

 

I ran my power directly to the battery for the CB. Got to test it out this weekend it still needs some tuning but but I could buck up Ben from 7 miles away.

 

What?! There's a fuse box behind the coin tray? i already ran a wire up to the battery. Haha

 

Then just tap into the IGN fuse next to it? The buss behind the coin tray fuse box always has power

 

I'll be damned there is a fuse box behind there. You'd think that would be labeled or something. haha

So how is a buss going to provide interference exactly? 14volts is 14 volts...

Plus once the engine is started you are no longer receiving power from the battery as the battery is now the load and being charged from your alternator. Also if you really want to get technical electron's flow from the ground plane "frame" into the radio and back to the battery/alternator thus as long as your potential is stable it doesn't matter.

 

I know that isn't the coin tray. That is the hole i cut to run the coax cable up through. I am going to mount the cb in there. It stopped raining again so I ran out and finished the power cable and connected it to the battery and the cb works Now I get to play the waiting game for the coax and antenna. One flaw I just found though... I thought the speaker was in the mic not in the cb itself so I may not hear it with the console closed... Maybe I will run a audio cable from the cb to my stereo.
