well..i decided..im going to build my own fenders

 

That will be awesome then you can bring it up here to my lake house and we can pretend to be pirates and go find some booty

this will be interesting

 

somehow i can totally see you two in a sail boat with eye patchs, swords and a bottle of alcohol on the lake lol

and yes..yes it will be interesting..i hope it turns out good..we shall see..

yea...well in my head. My friend and i came up with the idea just tonight. Im going to reuse just part of a stock fender, then use strips of 16g steel to kinda make a angle looking fender with multiple strips and such..

 

interesting idea. why not just use a 2x4 and bend some sheet? easier and likely cleaner in the end.

 

well its what i will do..its hard to explain what im doing right now haha im just using the outside edge of the stock fenders for the mounting and corner light and to line up with the door.

I have realized/learned from hearing stories that sailing...is as much about sailing as it is about drinking. So it clearly is the activity for you! But when you think about it the two go hand in hand very easily.

Bleh... To buy the dakars or not to buy the dakars... My Taco lean is driving me but I am not $600 convinced that new leafs will fix it, and I have run out of ideas to try...

and i just got my quote back from Alcan to build my custom spring to hold like 400+lbs of shit and retain 4.5'' lift...600 bucks

 

I hear the expo's ride like shit without any weight on them and I pretty much never have stuff in the bed. Plus they are supposed to ride at 4" when unloaded and my 5100's are rated for 2.5" of lift.

I don't think $600 is too bad of a price for custom leafs, since I am looking at about $500 for some shipped.

 

Get some custom leafs the Dakars will be a little stiff for your liking they are designed to keep 3" lift even with 300# in the back
