    In any relationship, online or face to face, there is a 'honeymoon' period where each party gives the other the benefit of the doubt. How long the honeymoon lasts largely depends on the behavior and the giive and take of each participant. :rolleyes:

    Regarding your leaf pack choices..

    It seems like until you know whats wrong with that one side, there is no way to make a solid decision. If it is only a broken hanger, the solution becomes a bit clearer. However, if you have a broken leaf in that pack or some other component of the pack itself, the right choice will depend entirely on what is wrong with the pack now.

    Performance wise, you can't go wrong with a new set of alcan springs. When paired with the right shock they are sweet. And in the long run, a new leaf pack is something you will need to do anyway. I would not go with the 5 leaf pack. The 8 leaf is fully capable of carrying loads and still delivers a lot of flex.

    FWIW, I had the opportunity to speak with the Fox rep at this years 4wheel parts truckfest. I asked the question of what was the difference in shock length between the extended and non-extended. He said it was about .5". Because of the location of the shock this translates to a little over 1" more wheel travel from the extended version compared to their non-extended version. In reading the written materials he gave me, the exact number for the 1st gen version is .52" when you compare their stated compressed and extended number. As I recall the 2nd gen was about the same.

    I only know what I read about them here.

    ARB/OME make good products. They have to, they have a world wide rep to live up to. I suspect the dakars are a good choice too. I have read that you must do their AAL though if you are going to carry a lot of weight on a regular basis. I also wonder how well they will work with non emu shocks.

    If you want to run 3" or more in the rear, would you have to used extended shackles? You would definitely have to go with longer shocks in that scenario too.

    Yes they do make great but expensive products. I was thinking about BoxRockets setup as an example:

    Old Man Emu Dakar rear leaf springs
    Old Man Emu D6XL Add a leaf
    Old Man Emu Nitrocharger Sport rear shocks
    All Pro Offroad 1.5" rear shackles

    He sits with a little rake and is usually always carrying weight. This was going to be my choice of lift but the cost was just out of my range. And i dont think you can use Billys with OME.

    Is that shock an extended length shock? Do you know how much total lift boxcutter is running in the back? I recall he is running 33s.

    Interesting. I did a bunch on reading on mid travel today and the consensus is that the stock travel is about 8" on the front and that the absolute max you can get with stock LCA's is 13" but most people said they were measuring about 10" of travel, if that, with extended travel shocks and aftermarket UCA's. I'm really curious to know what my measurements are now with the billies, if the ratio is 2:1 like username said my shocks should be capable of 11" of travel already and I have LR UCA's. My guess is that due to my lift I lack the down travel that a proper MT setup does because it has all been converted to up travel which my bumpstomp will most likely stop early.

    For the 2nd gens, the 5100's actually have more travel than the OME shocks, but the OME shocks are supposed to ride better and stay cooler.

    I think he has over 3" in the rear.

    Dakars give you 2 1/4"
    AAL give you about 3/4" :notsure:
    Shackle give you 3/4" :notsure:
